I am intrigued by Kael’s length and sharpshooting from beyond the arc. I see him as one of the top shooters in class B this season. He also protects the paint, scores inside the arc, and sets up others. He will be a Double-Double machine and put up All-State type of numbers. The problem is, the Crusaders have not won a ton of games in the past, so Mr. Nix is flying under the radar a bit.

“Leaning into my role as a leader and scorer.“

“Scoring off the bounce and my post-game.”

“Shooting the ball and defense.“

How do you stay locked in during the grind of the season—especially on tough weeks?

“Focus on one or two specific things I need to be better from the last game and carry it into the next game.“

What’s something your coaches emphasize that really shows up on game nights?

“Effort and intensity.”

What’s the biggest lesson basketball has taught you?

“You’re not going to do it all yourself. Get some help.“

What has been your favorite moment of the season so far?

“Picking on the freshmen on the bus rides (joking)“

“Williston State, New Town Event Center, and The Minot Dome“

What are you hoping to accomplish before postseason play begins?

“Win every game.“

-All-District last year, potential/ability to be one of the top shooters in Region 3

-I like his length, serious shooting threat who spaces the floor & fills it up

-Will need to shoulder a heavy load of the scoring for the Crusaders
