WHY?

-I have always liked what I have seen on film from Nix, elated to see him hoop live

-Puts up All-State type of numbers in Class B, it will be fun to see him vs. mobile athletes

-Could be one of the top-tier shooters at the event, is he scoring from all levels, how is his quickness?

-Eye-catching and noteworthy length for a wing/shooting guard

-Not just a 3-shooter like I thought, can put it on the floor & create buckets

-Quick release on his jumper, his pull-up game looks nice, hard to guard

-Not afraid to take a charge, elevates & hits shots over the defense

-Major matchup problem with his length and scoring ability from all levels

-Smooth shooting stroke, effortless release, shot looks the same from FT to NBA range

I am intrigued by Kael’s length and sharpshooting from beyond the arc. I see him as one of the top shooters in class B this season. He also protects the paint, scores inside the arc, and sets up others. He will be a Double-Double machine and put up All-State type of numbers. The problem is, the Crusaders have not won a ton of games in the past, so Mr. Nix is flying under the radar a bit.

“Leaning into my role as a leader and scorer.“

“Scoring off the bounce and my post-game.”

What does your team do well when you’re playing your best basketball?

“Shooting the ball and defense.“

How do you stay locked in during the grind of the season—especially on tough weeks?

“Focus on one or two specific things I need to be better from the last game and carry it into the next game.“

What’s something your coaches emphasize that really shows up on game nights?

“Effort and intensity.”

What’s the biggest lesson basketball has taught you?

“You’re not going to do it all yourself. Get some help.“

What has been your favorite moment of the season so far?

“Picking on the freshmen on the bus rides (joking)“

Favorite gym to play in (besides home)?

“Williston State, New Town Event Center, and The Minot Dome“

What are you hoping to accomplish before postseason play begins?

“Win every game.“

-All-District last year, potential/ability to be one of the top shooters in Region 3

-I like his length, serious shooting threat who spaces the floor & fills it up

-Will need to shoulder a heavy load of the scoring for the Crusaders
