Several 2027 prospects used the Romeoville Pre-Live event as an opportunity to elevate their recruitment and showcase their development heading into next live period weekend. Here are a few players who stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] | St. Laurence

Peoples continues to be one of the hottest names of the summer and has arguably been the most consistent performer each weekend. The 6-foot-2 guard is a strong, physical scoring guard who thrives attacking the basket. He embraces contact, finishes through defenders, and consistently puts pressure on the paint. Peoples also showed improved playmaking ability while taking on a leadership role for his team. Expect his recruitment to continue trending upward over the coming weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2406554' first='KJ' last='Miller'] | Plainfield East

The 6-foot-7 wing possesses as much talent and upside as anyone in the state. Miller showcased the defensive versatility that makes him such an intriguing prospect, piling up blocks and steals throughout the weekend. At his best, he's a dead-eye perimeter shooter who impacts both ends of the floor with his length.

[player_tooltip player_id='2796681' first='Zion' last='Braimah'] | Pecatonica

Braimah is an athletic 6-foot-7 wing who dunks nearly everything around the basket. He plays with excellent energy, runs the floor hard, and consistently finishes above the rim. Zion also displayed some versatility by stepping out and knocking down an occasional three-pointer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2827104' first='Rayvon' last='Myles'] | Marshall

Myles continues to showcase excellent court vision and decision-making. The 6-foot-2 rangy guard is a strong on-ball defender who thrives with the ball in his hands. He excels at driving and creating opportunities for teammates while also displaying impressive athleticism in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2431475' first='David' last='Udoiwod'] | Geneva

Udoiwod sparked several momentum-shifting runs for his team. The quick guard gets to the basket in the blink of an eye and showed impressive range by knocking down multiple three-pointers. David consistently broke down defenders off the bounce, created paint touches, and distributed effectively while on the move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532321' first='Elijah' last='Bell'] | Marian Central Catholic

Bell impacts the game in a variety of ways. The physical, aggressive guard is utilized all over the floor and consistently attacks the paint. He finishes through athletic plays while also showing the ability to score from the mid-range and beyond the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323599' first='Jamarri' last='Fears'] | Romeoville

Fears is a fast, heady guard who excels at changing speeds and keeping defenders off balance. He uses soft-touch finishes, gets to the free-throw line, and is comfortable pulling up from 20 feet. He also displayed solid drive-and-kick passing instincts and brought energy as a pesky defender. Fears added an occasional three-pointer to his offensive arsenal as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125620' first='Duke' last='Ross'] | St. Ignatius

Ross is a versatile 6-foot-6 forward with a good frame and a reliable perimeter shot. He looked more comfortable creating with the ball in his hands than we've previously seen, pushing the pace off defensive rebounds and finishing through contact. Ross also moved well without the basketball and has the tools to develop into an attractive academic prospect at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432131' first='Isaiah' last='Hall'] | Brooks

Hall is a plus shooter from beyond the arc who also showed the ability to score inside the lane. Slippery with the basketball and difficult to contain, he can pile up points in a hurry. Hall also demonstrated good anticipation defensively, jumping passing lanes and creating several steals. Showed his vision with some passing also.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125616' first='Donavyn' last='Simmons'] | Joliet Catholic

At 6-foot-2, Simmons is an agile point guard who brings plenty of juice with the ball in his hands. He pushes the tempo, delivers accurate passes on the move, and creates opportunities with creative ball handling. Simmons can generate space for his own shot or get all the way to the rim for finishes. He also proved to be a sound three-point shooter both off the catch and off the dribble while remaining active defensively.

Corey Wellere | King

Wellere is a 6-foot-3 guard who competes at a high level defensively. He attacks the rim with strength and can quickly become a zone breaker with his perimeter shooting. When his jumper starts falling, his energy level rises, and he becomes even more disruptive on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2821119' first='Isaiah' last='Robertson'] | Plainfield South

Robertson is a long, athletic 6-foot-6 rim runner whose game resembles a young Joakim Noah. He consistently ran the floor for easy baskets and collected several dunks simply by beating opponents down the court. Defensively, he showed good timing as a shot blocker. Robertson remains an under-the-radar prospect who could develop into a strong junior college or Division III option.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433214' first='Cam' last='James'] | Hoffman Estates

James is a well-built 6-foot-4 senior who powers his way through the lane for baskets. He possesses soft touch from the perimeter and rebounds at a high level. James displayed a versatile scoring package, producing from all three levels. He uses his physicality to create space in the paint and mid-range while also being capable of knocking down threes.
