June is a good time for some housekeeping. It isn't that the schedule isn't busy, in fact this is the busy time of year in a lot of ways. However, as prospects reconvene with their high school teams for a scholastic period of competition it serves as the unofficial transition from spring to summer. Last week we released our Class of 2029 Top 25 Rankings as well as an updated and expanded Watch List. Then, on Monday evening, we updated and expanded our Class of 2028 Rankings to include a Top 100. As always, we will spend the week highlighting stock-risers, new names, and diving deeper into the rankings update. Here are some of the top new names from this spring in Indiana's Class of 2028.

We watched this 5'10" guard go off as a sophomore in a game that Fort Wayne Wayne played at Huntington North around the holidays. He was raining in shots from the perimeter and he continued to be a go-to scorer for the Generals throughout the season. Look for him to step into an even larger role now as a junior. Akison is one of the top players in the Fort Wayne area in the Class of 2028 and makes his debut in our rankings at #72 overall.

One of the top up-and-coming guards in the Evansville area, Barnes had a solid sophomore season in a very talented Bosse backcourt. The 5'10" guard is a good shooter from beyond the arc showcasing the ability to create his own looks or making them off the catch. He is also pretty dynamic with the ball in his hands when getting downhill. Barnes makes his debut in our rankings at #74 in the state.

Bell was identified as one of the very talented Class of 2028 prospects at Lawrence North a year or so ago, but he has really broken out throughout the spring playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 16u. The 5'11" point guard is incredibly explosive end-to-end and puts a lot of pressure on the rim as a driver. Look for him to play a big role in LN's backcourt in June and have a big year as a junior. He makes his debut here at #39 in our prospect rankings.

Jankowski had a very good sophomore season at Valparaiso averaging 10.8 points per game while shooting 39-101 (38.6%) from three-point range. The 6'0" sharpshooter has taken his game to the 3SSB Circuit this spring with Breakaway Basketball out of Illinois and continued to have success as a shooter while playing at a very high level of competition. He is a currently under-the-radar guard to watch in the rising junior class.

The highest ranked prospect who was not previously in our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 Top 50 is this 6'7" center from Silver Creek. Not only are the Dragons loaded with talent, but they are loaded with size as well. Makun got his feet wet at the varsity level last year, but should be a primary contributor in a very good front court this season as a junior. With the way he continues to grow and develop inside he is definitely a prospect on the rise worth following.

Park Tudor is always on our list of stops that we make in the fall when attending preseason workouts. Therefore, Platt has been on our radar for a couple of years now. However, he now has broken into our Class of 2028 prospect rankings at #52 after a solid sophomore season and a strong spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] 16u. He is a talented scorer and shot-maker on the perimeter.

Smith has caught a good deal of attention this spring while playing up at the 17u level with [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last='']. The long, lean, 6'7" center is a fluid rim runner and bouncy shot blocker. He has shown the ability to protect the rim, rebound, and finish consistently above the rim offensively. Look for him to have a big two-way impact in the front court for Avon High School as a junior.

There obviously was a ton of talent at Pike last season and that likely won't be any different this coming year. He was still able to get some valuable varsity experience, but the upside is there for him to develop into even more. The 6'4" long, athletic, wing has had a good spring with UNRNKD Hoops and looked good playing with the Red Devils on Tuesday night at the PAC League. He is a good secondary playmaker and brings a lot of defensively versatility. Smith is now ranked #44 by us here at Prep Hoops Indiana.
