Tyrece caught fire in a semi-finals win for [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select']. He's one of those players who can change the course of a game in a matter of minutes, and his hot shooting helped Select pull away in the first half against Elevate Skills. He's such a gifted shot creator who only needs a couple of dribbles to create a yard of space to get off a jumper. Tyrece does a nice job of utilizing shot fakes to get defenders in the air before attacking to make plays at the rim. Within the first few minutes of the game he got to the rim for two scores while draining a pair of threes, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Ty recently announced he'll be doing a post grad year, and is back running with [program_tooltip program_id='2078859' first='Starks' last='Elite'] this spring. The Duluth point guard is so dangerous out of the pick & roll, and showcased his ability to either get downhill off the screen, pull-up for a mid-range jumper, or find his big rolling to the hoop. He garnered attention earlier in his career as a facilitator, and since then has become a more dangerous shooter as well. Ty was stretching the floor from three in the game I watched against [program_tooltip program_id='2075704' first='MN' last='Rise'].

Trey put his versatility on display early in the morning against [program_tooltip program_id='2075704' first='MN' last='Rise']. At 6'7 he showed he can go to work out of the block, stretch the floor from three, or drop dimes out of the high post. Composed player who doesn't force his game and sees the floor well. Even on days where Trey doesn't put up eye catching scoring numbers, you can count on him to compete on the defensive end, make smart passes, and crash the glass hard on both ends of the floor.

In a semi-finals game against Minneapolis Central that got extremely sped up and out of control at times, Jaylen was a calming presence on the floor for his team. He never looked in a rush, was breaking the press with ease, and utilized ball fakes to get by his defender and give his team a numbers advantage. When left open Jaylen can torch you from three, but was at his best this weekend creating for his teammates off the dribble. Looked like a veteran among his peers at the 15u level.

Brayden is one of the best passers that I saw this weekend. At 6'3 he runs the point for his [program_tooltip program_id='2075704' first='MN' last='Rise'] team because he sees the floor so well, and can use his length to make passes over the top of the defense that smaller guards can't. He can zip in passes from the perimeter, or penetrate and kick it out after the defense is forced to collapse on him. Sag off to prevent the drive though and Brayden can make you pay from three. Rise came up short against Fury in the quarterfinals, but it was a strong individual performance from Brayden.

It seems like every time I watch this Fury team play, a different player is stepping up. In the 17u championship game, that player was [player_tooltip player_id='2140675' first='Owen' last='Brezinski']. The 6'5 wing was lights out from beyond the arc, draining four threes to provide a mismatch nightmare at his size. When he wasn't lighting it up from three, Owen was getting to the rim just about any time he wanted to. He came up clutch down the stretch, putting his team ahead with an early lay-up in overtime, and then knocking down the game winning free throw with just four seconds to play.
