With four events officially in the books for the Prep Hoops Spring Circuit, the landscape of Illinois' 2027 class is shifting rapidly. Plenty of the state's top-ranked prospects verified their status, while several fresh faces forced their way into the conversation. Following a high-octane spring, these five prospects established themselves as premier names to watch heading into the crucial June live periods.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323618' first='Alex' last='Sirbu'] (6'8 PF/C, [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] 3SSB)

Event Standout: Chi-Town Tip-Off

Sirbu continues to trend upward as one of the more intriguing and high-upside big men in the state's sophomore class. At 6-foot-8, he absolutely makes a living around the rim. During the Chi-Town Tip-Off, he showcased incredibly polished footwork and an advanced catalog of post moves—utilizing fluid spins, soft baby hooks, and high-touch finishes with either hand. What separates Sirbu is his motor; he runs the floor hard in transition, frequently rewarding his guards by finishing plays well above the rim. After applying constant interior pressure all spring, his recruitment has caught fire with a couple of recent scholarship offers. He is an absolute must-watch for college coaches this June.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125588' first='Bennett' last='Kammes'] (6'2 SG, [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] Gold)

Event Standout: PH Circuit Consistent Performer

Simply put, Kammes has been the single best shooter on the entire Prep Hoops Circuit all spring. At 6-foot-2, he is a physically strong, highly skilled guard who acts as a lights-out perimeter marksman. He firmly projects as one of the top handful of distance shooters in Illinois' 2027 class. Kammes is lethal because he doesn't just catch and shoot; he thrives hitting shots off heavy movement, coming off screens, or pulling up off the bounce. Every single time the ball leaves his hands, you expect it to ripple the net. He possesses an elite, repeatable release and picture-perfect mechanics. Combined with his ability to play effectively both on and off the ball, Kammes is a floor-spacing luxury.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532341' first='Keyae' last='Lacy'] (6'3 SG, Geek Squad)

Event Standout: PH Circuit Consistent Performer

An athletic and rangy 6-foot-3 guard, Lacy operated as a true, effortless three-level scorer throughout the circuit. He looked entirely in his element regardless of the tempo. Lacy excelled at attacking gaps in transition and elevating explosively over rotating defenders at the rim, but he was equally dangerous knocking down balanced perimeter jumpers. Defensively, he might have been even more impactful; his lateral agility and hyper-active hands completely disrupted opposing ball-handlers. Lacy's advanced handle and ability to create clean separation off the dribble make him one of the most complete, two-way backcourt prospects we saw all spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens'] (6'4, UEBL Wolves / Zero Fears)

Event Standout: Windy City War

Stephens authored the individual breakout performance of the spring at our second event, completely erupting for a tournament-high 45 points in a dominant display. A high-volume scorer with a deeply polished offensive arsenal, Stephens is at his best when he is attacking downhill and putting pressure on the backline of the defense. He mixes in just enough perimeter shooting to keep defenders honest, but his real gift is countering physicality. Stephens routinely utilizes a lethal spin move in the lane to create late space, making him incredibly tough to contain one-on-one. Factor in his rapidly evolving playmaking feel, and he tracking as one of the state's most dangerous offensive weapons.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532358' first='Zaire' last='Green'] (6'2 CG, [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'])

Event Standout: Windy City War

Green is a physically imposing, thick-bodied 6-foot-2 combo guard who brought a refreshing, power-driven scoring approach to the Windy City War. He loves to play "bully ball," aggressively getting downhill and using his superior upper-body strength to muscle through defenders at the rim. While he damages teams in the paint, he proved to be a highly capable spot-up shooter who can stretch the floor when left unattended. Beyond his scoring punch, Green's rebounding ability genuinely stands out for a guard. He consistently hunts down defensive boards to trigger the break himself, adding a unique, gritty layer to his overall impact.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='2125668' first='Nedas' last='Venckus']- [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] Gold

[player_tooltip player_id='3219307' first='Elijah' last='Smith']- [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] EYCL

Daniel Sago- [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons']

[player_tooltip player_id='2403274' first='Timothy' last='Sirotyuk']- [program_tooltip program_id='2828653' first='Greater' last='Purpose Athletics']

[player_tooltip player_id='2389398' first='Orlando' last='Edwards']- 88 West

[player_tooltip player_id='2839878' first='Mason' last='Martin'] - [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] 3SSB
