The Centennial State Cup had some big-time performers that we've already gotten eyes on this past year/to begin the grassroots season, and players that we got to see for the first time this grassroots season. There have been changes from the high school season, so it was great to see them in this setting. Here are 5 performances that caught our attention.

Weber is a player that we got to see during the high school season, as he's one of the few varsity players in this clas,s and he did not disappoint. It's obvious to see that there are varsity minutes under his belt as the game slows down for him. He was one of the more impressive guards on the weekend as he led his team to 4 blowout wins and performed well in each game. He can shoot it, he plays with complete control, controls tempo and pace, and had a calm demeanor as a floor general. He opened up the floor with his ability to break a defender down and finish with floaters, and is capable of scoring barrages of his own. He's already pretty high on my list for players who are better than expecte,d but this was a stock booking weekend for him.

Landon's size and athleticism already make him one of the highest upside players in the entire state. He's a gifted 6'9 big man with a long wingspan, and he also looks to score. He had moments this weekend where he was just too much on the block. Feddersen knows where to be; he catches the ball and powers up. He had a couple of floaters, he finished on some back-to-the-basket buckets, and was a cheat code on the floor. Defensively, his size just matters a ton at this age group. Opponents had an extremely difficult time scoring with him on the floor, and he stepped out on the perimeter and applied pressure as well. Feddersen has the chance to be one of the state's best overall players come senior year, and this was a big weekend for him.

Way is a player who is a bit under the radar, with attention going to other players around him, but every now and then, he hits a big shot to open things up for Colorado Mayhem. He reads how the defense is playing their two best players and finds gaps in the defense to get his shot off. He got hot at times from deep as a floor extender who has range. He's constantly moving and cuts at times too. He had plenty of dribble drives when the defense took away the 3-point shot and showed he could mix it up at times. Defensively, he challenged himself. He was defending bigger guys, stepping over in heplside defense and trying his best to affect the game. He's a layer to watch moving forward.

Gilkey is a name I was not familiar with, but with the way that he stuffed the statsheets in every single game, that is going to change. Liberty Common has a sleeper over there that is going to make some noise if he continues playing how he did this weekend. He was a force on the boards, went right up with them, and scored aplenty with second-chance opportunities. He kept the ball high and used his body well to score on the block. He was patient with the ball in his hands and put the defenders on his hip until he found where he wanted to go, which is some high-level plays. If Gilkey was not scoring, he was getting trips to the FT line and kept RTS Choice in games, and led them to victories as well. They went 3-1 on the weekend, and he was part of the reason. He's a name to watch moving forward, and we added him to the ranking list, so hopefully he claims his profile soon so we can keep track of his play as he should be a name to know.

Scholl was a spark for Wildcats Basketball and he was able to affect the game in multiple areas. He was at the front of the press and causing havoc with his speed, length, and athleticism. He turned players over, was very active trying to cause turnovers, and had plenty of steals where he went right up with the ball. He sealed guys on the block, flashed to the right spots, and was dangerous at the high post. He rotated the ball, and I think he's going to be a real player when it all comes together. He's a player I did not know much about heading into the event that I am certainly intrigued by now.
