21 Game-Changers: Stomping Grounds

The event featured intense matchups, outstanding energy, and no shortage of players stepping up in key moments throughout the weekend. Now, we're spotlighting the true Game-Changers — the hoopers who consistently impacted winning and helped shift momentum for their teams.   Being a Game-Changer goes far beyond simply putting points on the board, although scoring certainly plays a role. These are the players who make winning plays in all facets of the game — whether it's making the extra pass, locking in defensively, controlling the glass, diving for loose balls, bringing toughness and energy, or delivering in clutch moments. They impact the game with effort, IQ, versatility, and competitiveness while elevating the teammates around them.   Below, we break down the players who stood out and changed the game made throughout the weekend at Stomping Grounds. We have ballers included from Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/05/image_7710c0.png"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/05/image_7710c0.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3643273" style="width:309px;height:auto" /></a></figure>   Game-Changer    Scott was a true game-changer this past weekend for Siouxland Sports Academy 17U with the way he consistently impacted winning on both ends of the floor. A very intelligent player with good size and physicality, Abe brought a steady, reliable presence throughout the event. Offensively, Scott is unselfish and does an excellent job getting his teammates involved while still being a capable scorer from all three levels. He doesn't force action and instead reads the game well, making the right play possession after possession. Defensively, he stood out with his activity and anticipation, consistently generating deflections and steals that turned into easy transition opportunities for his team. Abe's combination of IQ, versatility, and two-way impact made him one of the key difference-makers of the weekend.     Stueven was a serious game-changer this past weekend, impacting the game in every facet and stepping up in winning time. He stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game while consistently making smart, timely plays for his squad. Stueven scored from all three levels, created quality looks for teammates, and also provided a strong defensive presence while guarding positions 1-5. His biggest moment came against Impact Sports when he knocked down a clutch game-winning bucket, proving he could deliver under pressure. Alex's versatility and all-around production made him one of the standout difference-makers of the weekend.     He runs with NWIA Storm 14U and helped change the game for his team. Brody averaged 6.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 3 apg, while shooting 50 FG% & 75 FT%. Docker did an excellent job of applying ball pressure vs. lead guards. He was great at getting downhill in transition. Brody also created shots for himself and his teammates.     Strenge was one of the primary leaders for his team this weekend. He did great work on the offensive end. Cody knocked down 3-pointers and got to the hoop when needed. He set up Impact's offense and changed the game as a true floor general.     Edem was a game-changer this past weekend with the energy and athleticism he brought on O & D. He made a strong impact defensively with his quickness and activity while also doing a great job rebounding on both ends. As the weekend went on, Edem showed noticeable improvement and growing confidence in each game. His effort, athleticism, and defensive presence helped make him an important contributor throughout the event.     Christenson proved to be a major Game-Changer this past weekend with the way he impacted winning on both ends of the floor. The talented playmaker stepped up in big moments and delivered when his team needed him most, especially during a thrilling double-overtime win over Future Elite. Elijah filled the stat sheet with rebounds, blocks, and key defensive plays while also knocking down huge shots late in the game. His ability to stay composed in pressure moments and make winning plays was a major reason for his team's success. Elijah's versatility, toughness, and clutch shot-making made him one of the standout difference-makers of the weekend.     He was a serious game-changer this past weekend. Ethan shot lights out from beyond the arc. He showed signs of improvement as a perimeter defender and did a solid job rebounding from the guard position.     Ahrendt was a major game-changer this past weekend for Siouxland Sports Academy 17U thanks to his athleticism, versatility, and nonstop effort on both ends of the floor. He consistently made his presence felt in winning ways throughout the event. Ahrendt is an incredible athlete who can finish in the paint anytime he gets downhill, using his physical tools and explosiveness to convert at the rim. Defensively, he stands out as a long, versatile piece who can guard multiple positions and disrupt opposing offenses. On the glass, Gavin is a true workhorse while creating extra possessions on the offensive end while also closing out possessions defensively. His energy, versatility, and two-way impact made him one of the most valuable difference-makers.     Isaac was a real game-changer this past weekend with the way he controlled games and consistently made winning plays for his squad. The elite shooter and distributor handled extended minutes while playing shorthanded, yet never seemed rattled or sped up. More often than not, the pace of the game was completely in Isaac's hands whenever he was on the floor. Nardos averaged around 5 assists across three games while also recording 2+ steals in each contest, showing his impact on both ends. His biggest performance came in Game 2 of the weekend when he exploded for 30 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Isaac does a tremendous job balancing scoring with playmaking, making the easy read while also creating offense at a high level. Whether he's knocking down shots, setting up teammates, or disrupting opponents defensively, Nardos consistently finds ways to control momentum and elevate his team.     Jaxon of [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] had a nice weekend in Sioux Falls. He showed intriguing upside as a long, active 14U guard. Jaxon brings solid length for his position and plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. He shows noteworthy ball-handling ability, can create off the dribble, and isn't afraid to make hustle plays, often diving on the floor and competing for loose balls. His energy and activity level stood out throughout the tournament, and he had a strong overall showing as he continues to develop his guard skills.     Kollman is a tough, physical BIG for [program_tooltip program_id='2075723' first='ND' last='Attack'] who continues to impress with his motor and inside presence. The Cardinal shot the ball well throughout the weekend and dominated the glass, consistently creating extra possessions and making his presence felt around the basket. Jayce plays with an aggressive edge and runs the floor extremely well for his size. He also showed a nice-looking shooting stroke, adding versatility to his offensive game. With his toughness, rebounding ability, and developing skill set, Jayce looks like a nice player with a very bright future ahead.     Omoyeni was a major game-changer this weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] Morgan 17U and proved why he is such an impactful two-way presence on the floor. The 6'5” forward brought high energy, toughness, and athleticism while doing whatever his team needed to win. John played every minute of every game and consistently produced at a high level. He hauled in multiple double-digit rebounding performances and routinely took on the challenge of guarding the opposing team's best player. John's ability to impact the game defensively, dominate the glass, and compete possession after possession stood out all weekend long. Add in his elite athleticism and motor, and it's easy to see why he was one of the biggest difference-makers at the event.     Clifford put together a great weekend running with [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] PBG 17U and proved to be a major game-changer with his all-around production. Clifford averaged 16 ppg, 6 rpg, 3 apg, 2 spg, and 1 bpg while impacting winning on both ends of the floor. Leo showed a real knack for getting to the basket and finishing efficiently, scoring in a variety of ways throughout the weekend. Whether it was acrobatic finishes at the rim, smooth dribble pull-ups, catch-and-shoot looks, or turnaround jumpers, Clifford consistently found ways to put points on the board. Defensively, his activity level and length stood out as well, disrupting passing lanes and making life difficult for opposing perimeter players. His versatility, scoring package, and defensive impact made him one of the more impressive performers at Stomping Grounds.     Lesser showed this weekend why he was such an important game-changer for his squad during their 4-0 run. Now up to 6'5”, Marcus used his length, activity, and defensive toughness to consistently impact games. Marcus averaged 7 rebounds per game over the weekend and was an absolute pest defensively from start to finish. He disrupted opposing offenses with his energy, effort, and ability to guard multiple spots while constantly making hustle plays. His presence on the glass and defensive end played a major role in his team's undefeated weekend, and with his size continuing to improve, Lesser remains a very intriguing prospect moving forward.     Max was tough as a slasher. He got downhill often and produced several AND1 buckets. Bengford also secured rebounds on both ends of the floor and hooped with an aggressive mindset all weekend in Sioux Falls.     Dahms was a game-changer in Sioux Falls. He provided a great spark to the team on offense and defense. Max came away with 50/50 balls that led to transition buckets from himself and assists to teammates. Max also got hot from 3-point land in a game and connected on back-to-back triples.     Morris was a game-changer this past weekend with the way he controlled the point guard position and impacted winning. He played a huge role in his team's 4-0 weekend by bringing toughness, energy, and smart decision-making every game. Morris was extremely active defensively, turning steals into easy transition buckets and constantly creating problems for opposing guards. He embraced the physicality of the weekend and did a great job rebounding from the guard spot while competing possession after possession. Offensively, Sylvester made excellent decisions with the basketball, balancing playmaking for teammates with scoring opportunities for himself. His leadership, defensive activity, and steady floor game were key factors in his team's success throughout the event.     This tough center from the Cornhusker State had a big weekend as a game-changer at Stomping Grounds. Cleveland was a beast in the paint. Thomas dominated! He went for 20 points and 10 rebounds in every game.     Trevin runs with NWIA Storm 14U. He proved to be a sniper off the bench and does not always get the credit he deserves. Christie consistently kept the ball moving when not open for a shot. He also did an outstanding job of being in the correct help position on defense. He was a real game-changer in Sioux Falls.     He runs with Future Elite 15U and made many plays as a game-changer. He came up clutch in double overtime and proved himself as a timely baller. Phillips also played tough full-court defense. He was productive on both sides of the ball in Sioux Falls.     Davidson was the definition of a game-changer this past weekend because of the way he consistently impacted winning through effort, toughness, and hustle plays. He may not always be the flashiest player on the floor, but his presence was felt in every game. Weston did all of the little things that help teams succeed: crashing for loose balls, bringing nonstop energy, defending with physicality, and competing hard on every possession. He played tough defense all weekend long and set the tone with his intensity and willingness to do the dirty work.
