Alan Olsen | Prep Hoops Scout
This kid was fun to watch! Thomas showed impressive post skills with great footwork and nice touch around the basket. He showed the ability to score with both hands and in traffic with up and under moves and a nice fade away. Hard to move off his spot once he established position and when he got his post touches you could pretty much count it. Aggressive rebounder on both ends of the floor. Showed some ball skills starting the fast break leading to points.

This tough center from the Cornhusker State had a big weekend as a game-changer at Stomping Grounds. Cleveland was a beast in the paint. Thomas dominated! He went for 20 points and 10 rebounds in every game.

couldn’t be stopped in the paint on Saturday morning. It seemed like any time he caught the ball on the block, two points were going on the board. At 6’4 he has such a strong frame that is tough to stop at the 15u level, combined with impressive footwork and the touch to finish with either hand. Really good spatial awareness to kick it out if a double-team came, or recognize when he had the space to go to work in isolation. Works hard to get up and down the floor in transition.

Cleveland won Future Elite 14U the championship by being impossible to keep off of the offensive glass in the 14U championship game. He had offensive rebound after offensive rebound for putbacks in the second half of the game. I don’t recall Future Elite 14U shooting from the perimeter very well, but they had so many second-chance opportunities that it didn’t matter. If Cleveland can continue to grow in height, he will be a sought-after recruit, because he has the body and the toughness to be a true impact BIG in the state of Nebraska.
