"We just didn't make enough shots." was the quote Dan Hurley used after coming up just short in the National Championship game vs Michigan last night and that is something most coaches around the country can relate to, regardless of level. Having guys that can make shots with consistency is incredibly important and we're going to take a deeper look at those guys around North Carolina right now!

Jefferson is a guy in North Carolina who somehow still remains under the radar in the recruiting world despite being a really well rounded prospect with clear cut translatable skills. This past season at Knightdale, his first with the program, Jefferson averaged 19.3 Points, 7.1 Rebounds, 3.3 Assists, 2.0 Steals, and 0.7 Blocks per game on 49/39/78 shooting splits. My personal favorite thing about Jefferson's game is his awareness of where his spots are and knowledge on how to get to those spots with high frequency. He was an incredibly efficient scorer this past season while also playing a lot of minutes at the point guard position and his ability to make shots will be incredibly important to this [program_tooltip program_id='2078500' first='Garner' last='Road'] 3SSB 17u group which appears to have a great blend of talent as the roster has guys with many different skillsets that compliment one another. Jefferson should start to get more recruiting attention with his simple but really effective game, positional size, and efficiency.

Gaddy is a really important piece to this [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] UA Rise 17u roster that is coming off of a 16u championship last season. Gaddy had a really strong season at Cardinal Gibbons this past year as the team had an incredible season, making it to the final four in the NCHSAA 7A Classification. Gaddy averaged 10.8 Points, 5.3 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists, and 0.9 Steals per game with 50/37/83 shooting splits on the season. Gaddy can play on or off the ball, is a true two way connector, and a really good rebounder for his size. He's got some vertical pop to his game, but his ability to make outside shots off the catch, allow him to play in a multitude of lineups for this talented and deep [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] team. He's continuing to establish himself as a no brainer next level talent as he has translatable skills, a selfless approach, and his production directly translates to winning games. Look for Gaddy to make some really timely shots for [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] this spring/summer.

Allen had a really strong season in Overtime Elite with The YNG Dreamerz/Moravian Prep and has a chance to follow the path of other shot makers who have come through the same program. Though his game is much different than both Abu Yarmah and [player_tooltip player_id='1879517' first='Kohl' last='Rosario'], he has many of the same traits as those two and they had a ton of success under this system. Allen started to emerge as a feature piece for this team as the season went along, and I fully expect him to pick up right where he left off once this group continues play this summer on the UAA circuit with TLBA. Allen had a few breakout games in the OTE Playoffs in a season where he really established himself as a division one prospect with his ability to make shots off the catch, provide a ton of energy at both ends, and show the flashes of athleticism in transition where he finished above the rim with consistency. He's a perfect system fit for what TLBA does and finds himself in a role where he'll be relied on to score the ball and he appears to be more than ready for the challenge ahead.

McCormick is a steady PG with the ability to heat up from distance and he is looking to show that with his new travel club down in Atlanta as he's joined Game Elite 3SSB 16u this season. Coming off a year at Davidson Day where he played in both backcourt spots and provided his team with a really viable scoring and playmaking option as an underclassmen. He recently received a division one offer from McNeese State and is looking to continue to build his status in the 2028 class. McCormick can make threes off the dribble or catch, he makes great reads in ball screen situations, and really does a nice job sliding his feet to stay in front of the opposition on the defensive end of the floor. He had strong start to the travel season at the On The Radar x HoopSeen Main Event this past weekend and is looking to really build upon that with 3SSB sessions approaching in the coming weeks.

Chaney proved himself as one of North Carolina's top 2029 guards with the work he put in at Charlotte Latin this past season with his ability to make shots being a huge part of that. He'll be running with [program_tooltip program_id='2220892' first='Team' last='United'] EYBL 15u this spring/summer as he looks to build off of the success he enjoyed during his Freshman season. This past year he averaged 19.2 Points, 3.6 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists, and 1.2 Steals on 47/41/76 shooting splits. The volume from beyond the arc was high as well as he made 71 triples in 29 games this season. Chaney did that playing against competition that was almost all older than him, now that he's going to be playing his age group on a national stage, I fully expect Chaney's production and efficiency to properly translate, allowing his stock to rise as he continues to set an incredible recruiting foundation. This [program_tooltip program_id='2220892' first='Team' last='United'] 15u group enjoyed a lot of success in middle school and looks to be bringing a large chunk of that core back to the EYBL 15u circuit, it will be fun to track Chaney as he is a really special guard prospect to monitor closely.
