Rankings Update: The 2027 Combo Guards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today, we continue our rankings coverage for the <em>Class of 2027</em> with a look at the <em>combo guards</em>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The top ranked <em>combo guard</em> is <em>Vermont Academy's</em> <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2568339' first='Kamari' last='Whyte']</em></strong>, who checks in at <strong><em>#5</em></strong> in the overall rankings. At 6'4", he's a bigger guard that has proven to be a high level shooter from behind the arc. He's comfortable getting into his jumper off one dribble or in catch and shoot situations, and even started to show some ability to operate as a secondary playmaker this winter. The 6'0" lefty has some real creativity with the ball in his hands, showing good chance of pace and the ability to play off of hesitations, pass fakes, and shot fakes. He's a tough shot maker in the mid-range, does a nice driver of kicking out to shooters off his drives, and is capable of making threes with consistency. Defensively, he moves well laterally, allowing him to be a tough on ball defender in space. He's a tough on-ball defender that does a nice job of making opponents uncomfortable and shows good instincts as a playmaker in passing lanes. Offensively, he has good burst as a driver, the ability to get to his spots off the bounce, and plays with good vision as a passer in the half-court. Defensively, he sits in a stance and works at the point of attack and has shown he's willing to give up his body to make a play on a loose ball or to take a charge. Offensively, he's quick when switching directions and plays with good burst out of his dribble moves, allowing him to get into the paint at will off the bounce. Beyond that, he impresses with his vision and ability to make passes on the move or in traffic.
