Fitzgibbon is a true 6-foot-4 and has the physical profile of a scholarship player. The rising senior shot the ball extremely well from the mid range on Saturday—he consistently got one step inside the arc and elevated for looks above the defense—but he also showcased some really excellent athleticism and touch at the rim with both hands. Defensively, he took pride in his defensive assignments and was extremely physical all day. Fitzgibbons should be a key player for Brimmer and May this season and just joined Team Sims for their remaining UA Rise sessions, where he should provide important production on both ends. If Fitzgibbon shoots the ball well from three this season (which I could see happening with improved confidence), he will definitely get scholarship looks.

Fitzgibbon, a guard out of the Brimmer & May School in Massachusetts, is the #28 ranked combo guard in this update and checks in at #132 overall. The 6’3″ guard has good positional size, impressive length, and plays with more athleticism than anticipated. He’s capable of getting to his spots off the bounce and has shown the ability to be a consistent threat as a shooter from behind the arc. Defensively, he impresses with his instincts off the ball and with great length, has the ability to be disruptive in passing lanes. He’ll run this spring and summer with the Mass Rivals.

Fitzgibbon is an interesting player because he seems to be just on the cusp of really figuring it all out offensively. The 6-foot-3 guard has some incredibly impressive flashes; he has a nice looking pull up jumper and showcases some great touch in the lane on floaters, as well as some surprising athleticism on drives to the rim. His shot is just not as consistent as it needs to be, but I could totally see it getting there based on how it looks. The slow steps, feel, and change of speed is already there, though, so the junior has some time to figure it out. Fitzgibbon should be looked at by D3 schools right now but could improve his stock with a better perimeter shot.

Fitzgibbon always impresses me with his feel for the game and skillset offensively. He never holds the ball for too long, he can shoot it from three, and he always knows what he’s going to do with it once he gets it, which makes him an effective off ball spacer and closeout driver. When he has the ball, he does a solid job in the pick and roll and can get to the rim and finish quite effectively; he’s a lot more athletic than you think and has really excellent touch off the backboard. The 6-foot-3 guard should probably be on the radar of scholarship coaches, but he needs to up his motor and effort level defensively.

Fitzgibbon, a prospect out of the Brimmer & May School, checks in at #92 overall and #14 among the combo guards. Fitzgibbon fit the mold of the prototype for a combo guard, with good size for the position and the ability to play on or off the ball offensively. He has some real wiggle with the ball in his hands, makes good reads as a playmaker in the half-court, and is a crafty finisher around the rim in transition. He makes shots in catch and shoot situations, and knows how to utilize screens to get open. He defends in space, rebounds in traffic, and knows where to be in rotation.

Fitzgibbon comes from Brewster Academy and will get a much more significant opportunity to play for his new squad at Brimmer. The 6-foot-3 combo guard can play both on and off the ball; he has a great looking three-point shot but also attacks closeouts decisively and is a fundamentally sound driver to the hoop. He’s also an excellent help-side defender and fights his behind off when guarding stronger, bigger players. He looks like he’s still developing physically, but I would bet Fitzgibbon plays some serious minutes for Brimmer next season and looks pretty good.

Fitzgibbon is a versatile guard with impressive size, making him a matchup problem for opposing defenders. He plays with great pace, always pushing the tempo and keeping defenders on their heels. With a high basketball IQ, Fitzgibbon excels at reading the game and making smart decisions in key moments. Whether on or off the ball, he can contribute effectively, showcasing his adaptability in different offensive sets.
