West Valley Upper Classman Season Standouts : F/C

The talent ranges from nationally ranked 5 stars all the way to completely under the radar talent. Cameron has a legit three ball with NBA level range. The lefty's shot is super smooth with a quick release. Cam is a above the rim athlete with a strong frame that gets to the rim and finishes strong. He is not afraid to post smaller defenders and play with the physical edge. He gets to good spots in the midrange and will rise up to hit jumpers over defenders. Cameron's ability on defense is where he can really make an impact at the next level. With his speed, strength, length and IQ Cameron can defend the 1-5 at the high school level and be super versatile for his squad. AJ thrives in the paint and uses his strength and athleticism to his his advantage. He can post up or attack the bucket of the dribble. He has a good handle for his size and can stretch the floor with his shooting. AJ's outside shot has improved as he shot 40% from deep this year on 47 attempts. His rebounding is one of his strongest assets and will often lead to second chance points or fast break opportunities. His high motor translates to the defensive end where he often guards wings, bigs and can even switch on guards if needed. Tyrell is one of the only true bigs in the West Valley. He is strong in the post and has a nice spin and seal move. He can hit a little jump hook by the rim and always has his hands ready looking for the ball. He can extend his range out to the midrange with his soft shooting touch. Tyrell sets good picks and rolls aggressive to the rim. Isaiah can score from all three levels and get hot real fast. He has a smooth jumper and likes to get to the midrange and rise above defenders and hit shots. He has a quick first step and can get down hill and finish above the rim with a layup or dunk. He is solid shooting the three of the catch and can still improve. Isaiah is at his best on the break and has the ability to play on and off ball. Despite only being 6'3 his strength and athletic ability allows him to be one of the best rebounders in the state. He is relentless on the glass constantly getting second chance points. He is a strong finisher at the rim and will even try to throw it down on defenders. Karmello has a nice pull up jumper from the midrange and can hit the catch and shoot three. He has great timing for blocks and will challenge anyone at the rim. Princes ability to wear multiple hats for his team makes him very valuable. He can become a scorer for his team and often gets his buckets at the rim and in the midrange. He can do the dirty work for his squad and lockdown on defense and be scrappy and rebound. He brings energy and leadership to the court and is constantly pushing teammates. He has the ability to play with his back to the basket and take advantage of smaller players with his strength and footwork. He has soft touch around the rim and can shoot out to the midrange and even the three. He shot 41% from three on 2 attempts a game. He can anchor a defense and and be a force in the middle blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. Josh has became very talented at creating his shot. He gets down hill and finishes strong at the rim. He is not afraid to crate contact and bump off defenders. He has a nice midrange game and and creates space with his footwork to get up shots over defenders. He has improved his three ball and shoots the catch and shoot three at a high clip. Josh is a plus rebounder and will battle with the bigs on the inside. He is a versatile defender and can guard multiple positions at the high school level. Josh lead his team to an elite 8 5A appearance and was selected at he 5A Northwest Valley Defensive Player of the Year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
