AJ is a super strong forward with a high motor. AJ thrives in the paint and uses his strength and athleticism to his his advantage. He can post up or attack the bucket of the dribble. He has a good handle for his size and can stretch the floor with his shooting. AJ’s outside shot has improved as he shot 40% from deep this year on 47 attempts. His rebounding is one of his strongest assets and will often lead to second chance points or fast break opportunities. His high motor translates to the defensive end where he often guards wings, bigs and can even switch on guards if needed. AJ was selected as the 5A Desert West Defensive Player of the Year.

He rebounded the ball well, securing key rebounds on both ends and giving his team extra possessions. A strong passer, he made smart decisions with the ball, finding open teammates and keeping the offense flowing. Offensively, he showcased his smooth mid-range jumper, knocking down quality looks when given the opportunity. Defensively, he was a force at the rim, using his length and timing to contest and alter shots effectively. His presence in the paint made it difficult for opponents to finish inside. On top of that, he ran the floor well in transition, getting up and down the court to create scoring opportunities and provide an interior presence on the break.
