Our 2027 rankings were updated this morning and as usual, a slew of breakdown content is to follow. Aaron broke down the top ten and I'll jumpstart other angles by looking at the stock-risers from this release. If there is any common theme with the prospects below, it's that their games undeniably impacted winning at a high level this winter.

In my opinion, Leggett had an argument as being one of the most underrated players in the MIAA this season. Time and time again, he answered the call as the primary playmaker for the Dragons in marquee wins that. He brings a great blend of positional size, ability to play on or off the ball and athleticism that can catch you by surprise when he takes off and finishes with power above the rim. He's a well-rounded scoring threat who can do it off the catch from three, use his herky jerky approach off the bounce to create angles/space for himself and also maintain good court vision on drives to the rim for last second dump-offs or spray outs. I expect Leggett to be one of the premier names that pop out to folks next season, but he's been on my radar heavily since early December. The massive move from No. 160 to No. 48 was warranted.

Heck of a junior campaign for McKenzie as it ended by leading Takoma Academy to the MDPSSBT Division B title and taking home Tournament MVP honors behind 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-3 lefty is a smooth operator with the ball who operates well in quick isolations due to the attention his long-range shooting ability demands. He has great instincts on the catch in how to attack closeouts where he can straight-line his way to the rim before using his plus length to finish extended layups and make it tough for defenders to get a clean contest without fouling. As impressive as his season was this year, we expect McKenzie to raise the bar as a senior and is why he made such a big jump from No. 111 to No. 63 in this update.

McCoy stepped into a situation at St. Frances and was expected to fill a vital, yet fluid role within the rotation from day one. The tough-nosed Edmonson transfer brought his defensive grit from playing in the city public league to the Panthers and it was welcomed with open arms as was his ability to get downhill, play up-tempo and finish through contact at the rim. He progressed throughout the season as a catch-and-shoot threat and while the shot still isn't at a point where his defender has to run him off the line, the improvement since November is noteworthy. What I liked about McCoy was whether he was starting or brought off the bench, his energy remained the same. The Panthers' lineups changed quite a bit depending on the matchup, but knowing that McCoy was going to come in and infuse energy into the game on both ends helped him make his mark in the BCL/MIAA as well as jump 10 spots to No. 90 in our latest update.

Magruder's season ended with a loss in the state title game to a good South River group, but it doesn't blemish the overall season that Dabbondanza had as a key component in helping them get there. The 6-foot-2 point guard is equipped with a sturdy frame, twitch at the point of attack and a good feel as a playmaker in a way that translates seamlessly to the collegiate ranks. His per game averages of 12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.8 steals give a solid indication of how involved he was on both ends for the Colonels during their run. Similar to the rest of these guys mentioned on this list, look for Dabbondanza to step into a senior leadership role and assert himself as one of the top players in a deep Montgomery County pool. He jumped 21 spots from No. 163 to No. 142 in the latest update.

Delaware took significant strides this season for the Screamin' Eagles and not only led them in scoring, but also a regional title with a win over Governor Thomas Johnson before coming up short in the state quarterfinals against Meade. The 5-foot-11 combo guard caught eyes with his efficiency all over the floor, but particularly with the way he found his groove from beyond the arc. In the postseason games, Delaware averaged over 22 points per game and cashed in on 50 percent of his attempts from three on respectable volume. He's effective in exposing driving lanes with quick jab-and-go's and if he doesn't have a clear look at the rim, he'll kick it out and quickly relocate with a good base. Certainly some indicators that Delaware is primed for a big spring/summer before taking the reigns as the bell cow for Seneca Valley next season.
