I drove out to Boyds, Maryland this weekend to check out the regional Pro16 event featuring some of the top talent from 12u all the way up through 17u. I came away impressed with the talent and depth across age groups from a few of the local clubs. In this article I'll write about the top players that I saw, let's dive in!

-Easily the most balanced overall prospect in the field from this weekend, I loved Suggs' all-around impact on the game as a rangy wing prospect. Suggs proved adept at getting to the rim and finishing with unorthodox moves around the basket by playing off of two feet around the rim. I liked his defensive instincts to cut off his opponent's airspace when they picked up their dribble and his ability to fight over ball screens to stay in front of his matchup--when engaged. Suggs also proved capable of knocked down touch shots in the paint and short jumpers within ten feet of the rim off of step-backs/side-steps/up-n-under ball fakes. Love how balanced his game is at both ends of the floor and the 2-way impact that he is able as a defender capable of guarding 1-3 at the HS level.

-The big dog showed his offensive potential in extended run in a come-from-behind game against Brooklyn Elite that got pretty testy at both ends of the floor. Sewell served as a pick n pop big capable of freeing his backcourt for easier looks off of physical screens while he also proved that he could space the floor with his shooting with three really big 3s from the wings. Sewell rotated from the baseline to block a floater from the nail in transition, served as a willing passer from the low block and as a good decision-maker in DHO opportunities on the wings with slashers or shooters. If he can improve his conditioning to play for longer stretches of time, postgrad programs will be much more willing to roll the dice on him next season.

-Thought that Robinson displayed one of their higher ceilings amongst prospects at this event as a freshman playing up with 16u Local Legends that impressed this weekend after some strong performances at Pro16 Detroit. Liked the feel that Robinson displayed throughout the event as he waits to make eye contact with the ballhandler on the wing before face-cutting to the rim in the secondary break for easy 2s around the basket. He also showed a great motor on the glass to time the leap early enough to snag the rebound over his opponent but still high-point a putback for a clean look. Robinson has both a nice ceiling and floor as a prospect that is a walking triple-double threat that can shoot it, put it on the deck, make good reads in the halfcourt and serve as an unselfish primary creator or wing connector depending on lineups.

-Twitchy downhill driving guard, love the pace that he plays at with the ball in his hands. Brown blocked a big's shot off his back foot in transition, was a matchup nightmare in transition that put pressure on his opponents' transition defense, scored off a spin move lay off the window in transition, scored off a hop step lay off glass after he grabbed the defensive rebound to initiate the break. Love the pace and aggression that he plays with at both ends of the floor to accentuate his physical gifts.

-Ross gave his team a nice defensive boost in both games as a quick guard capable of turning stops or defensive rebounds into baskets at the other end. Ross came roaring to life in the 2H vs Brooklyn after a scoreless 1H by knocking down three 2H triples and hitting a key FT to seal a nice win. Ross is in gaps defensively to force turnovers as a disruptive guard that can thrive both on or off the basketball, getting his own within the flow of the game because of how well he keeps the ball moving in the halfcourt.
