One of the fastest rising players in Ohio's 2026 class, McCree has a ton of offensive talent that was unleashed this season. A quick guard who can score quickly and efficiently off the ball, McCree is a tough shot maker on the perimeter who can attack closeouts and change speeds and directions quickly off the dribble. A player who seems a little under the radar for scholarship programs, McCree could easily play right away at the Division II or NAIA level with the right fit.

A player who has been committed to the Division I level for a while, Alexander's toughness and mentality should take him further than his pure natural talent would suggest. If you enjoy watching guards who love playing defense, diving on the floor and rebounding at a much higher rate than their height would suggest, Alexander is the guard for you. I'll be curious to see how well he does offensively early on in his career, but the intangibles will give him chance after chance to crack a rotation.

Maysville won the region for a third consecutive season and Nichols was dominant once again at the Convo, dominating conference rival John Glenn in the regional semifinals. Nichols offensive ability is tremendous as he knocks down shots from behind the college line and has a quick pull-up to hit contested shots. It'll be interesting to see where Nichols ends up at the college level, he should have plenty of interest from regional Division II and NAIA programs. This 2026 class at Maysville will go down as one of the greatest in East district history, with three regional titles and a state championship and they were led by Nichols.

Toledo Central Catholic made a run to the state semifinals and Carruthers had an impressive season as a productive forward with impressive interior scoring and rebounding statistics this season. Carruthers was named honorable mention all-Ohio and with his high school head coach Mike Floyd taking a college head coaching job, Carruthers could get interest from his program and more as he makes a decision on where he wants to play next season.

I'm not sure how many players had hotter closes to the season than Kelsheimer did with Saint Ed's. Helping lead the Eagles to another regional championship, Kelsheimer had massive games against Saint Ignatius, Lutheran East and Mentor. Kelsheimer knocked down seven 3-pointers in the win over Lutheran East, a battle between two of the best teams in northeast Ohio. Joining Fairmont State next season, Kelsheimer's perimeter shot making, leadership skills on the court and defensive ability should give him a chance to see the floor.

Trotwood Madison won the Division III state title with Reaves knocking down clutch shots in both the state semifinal and championship game to fuel the hometown Rams to victory inside UD Arena. Reaves is a talented lead guard who can get to the rim off the dribble and make pull-up jumpers as well. We already broke down Reaves heroics from state title game recaps, which earned him a major boost up our rankings.
