Trotwood Madison won the Division III state title with Reaves knocking down clutch shots in both the state semifinal and championship game to fuel the hometown Rams to victory inside UD Arena. Reaves is a talented lead guard who can get to the rim off the dribble and make pull-up jumpers as well. We already broke down Reaves heroics from state title game recaps, which earned him a major boost up our rankings.

The best player on the court, Reaves dominated the game offensively with impressive perimeter shot making off the dribble. Knocking down some deep 3-pointers from behind the college line and hitting a tough isolation jumper against a switch, Reaves was getting to his spots and rising up to connect. Badin was unable to keep Reaves out of the paint and he had a couple drop off assists to teammates on the block for easy layups. Great performance by the Rams who fell in this round last season at this same venue.

Reaves is a player that is essential for this fast-paced and elite defensive Trotwood team. He provides an ability to score the ball and create offense on his own. He is an elite defender with great ball pressure and quickness. He then provides a real scoring threat on the offensive end. He is a great transition scorer with a great touch around the rim. He has a quick first step and drives right by you. He did a good job of knowing when to attack and create good looks around the rim. He had some tough finishes as well.

Another prospect who played on a circuit this summer was Reaves who played with Phenom United’s 15 U squad. I caught Reaves for the first time in Rock Hill and was impressed with his ability to push the pace with his speed. A couple steals and transition finishes plus the high motor that he plays with means Reaves will fit right in with high pressure up-tempo systems. Reaves also knocked down a key 3-pointer to take the lead with 40 seconds left in a 3SSB game down in Rock Hill that I caught, showing the ability to hit a big time shot. One of the more talented underclassmen guards from the Dayton area.
