I’m not sure how many players had hotter closes to the season than Kelsheimer did with Saint Ed’s. Helping lead the Eagles to another regional championship, Kelsheimer had massive games against Saint Ignatius, Lutheran East and Mentor. Kelsheimer knocked down seven 3-pointers in the win over Lutheran East, a battle between two of the best teams in northeast Ohio. Joining Fairmont State next season, Kelsheimer’s perimeter shot making, leadership skills on the court and defensive ability should give him a chance to see the floor.

Attending our expo showcase last year, Kelsheimer got on our radar about a year ago and continued to impact winning to earn a spot in our rankings this week. The lefty point guard makes players around him better as a passer, can knock down an open shot and takes care of the basketball. Those traits are highly valued at the small college level and Kelsheimer’s experience as a multi-year varsity player at a program like Saint Edward will prepare him for college coaching and expectations.
