One of the fastest rising players in Ohio’s 2026 class, McCree has a ton of offensive talent that was unleashed this season. A quick guard who can score quickly and efficiently off the ball, McCree is a tough shot maker on the perimeter who can attack closeouts and change speeds and directions quickly off the dribble. A player who seems a little under the radar for scholarship programs, McCree could easily play right away at the Division II or NAIA level with the right fit.

An end to an incredible run for McCree this season, going from a complimentary bench piece as a Junior to one of the top guards in central Ohio as a senior. A confident scoring guard, McCree emptied the clip in the state title game, attempting 27 field goals and 15 3-pointers. McCree found his most success early in the third quarter when Westerville North blitzed Massillon Washington out the locker room and took a commanding double-digit advantage. McCree has the quickness and touch to get to the paint and hit tough floaters over bigger shot blockers and that’s the type of shot that will translate to the college level.

Westerville North is a threat to repeat as state champions in Division II thanks to the play of guards like McCree. A nice balance between tough on ball defense and real on-ball scoring juice, McCree is a guy opposing guards don’t want hounding them full court but also don’t want to get caught on an island against. In Westerville North’s latest statement win, McCree poured in 17 points against a tough Cincinnati Aiken squad. Look for McCree to potentially be an instant contributor at the small college level.

Westerville North played the most competitive game of the weekend in an instant classic of defending state champions. McCree was the best offensive player in the halfcourt all game long by making some nasty moves off the dribble by showing his ability to create offense for himself. Hitting a couple clutch 3-pointers while also having the speed to get all the way to the rim, McCree is a very tough cover.

Westerville North cruised to a state title last season and McCree was playing next to a handful of talented guards. While a couple of those players graduated, the Warriors still have McCree and a pair of 2027 guards who are ready to keep the momentum rolling in their program. McCree had some monster scoring games in June and was impressive at showcase events this fall. Stock rising guard who could breakout in Columbus this winter.

The defending Division II state champions will have a bit of a new look team this season and that gives McCree a chance to emerge as one of the more intriguing small college guard prospects in central Ohio. McCree can create offense for himself and make shots offensively. McCree also has the athleticism to play at the college level. His big month of June helped make him an easy choice as a stock riser.

McCree played a part in Westerville North’s state championship run last season as a guard who competed defensively and made shots off the catch. This coming season McCree will be looked to consistently score and occasionally create his own offense off the dribble. With his production, perimeter shooting and not being afraid of the moment, I expect McCree to get some quality small college interest this season.

Westerville North grabbed a comeback victory over Groveport Madison thanks in large part to a late spurt that McCree had his fingerprints all over. In the closing moments of the game McCree had a 3-pointer, two steals and two assists in a 7-0 that turned a two-point deficit into a five-point lead for Westerville North as they held on to win. While Westerville North graduated a lot of pieces from their state title winning squad, they still have plenty of talent left in their program and McCree is a notable small college recruit that’s primed for a big senior season.

McCree added a spark with his offensive outburst he had 11 points all coming in the 1st half. He showed that he could score from behind the arc with two three pointers. McCree was also able to score inside with his touch around the bucket. McCree is someone who needs to be guarded on the perimeter.
