As the Indiana High School Basketball season comes to a close we will put a bow on it all with a ton of coverage. Obviously, we still have the IHSAA State Finals to look forward to on Saturday. However, aside from that, we will be releasing our All-State Teams, Player of the Year, Class-by-Class Top Performers, and much more. In this series we want to hire some of the top stock-risers in each class. Here are some of the sophomores in the state of Indiana that improved their stock the most throughout the 2025-2026 season.

An unknown commodity to those outside of Fort Wayne, Akison had a monster sophomore season to really burst onto the scene. The 6'1" guard averaged 12 points per game for Fort Wayne Wayne while shooting 34-82 (41.5%) from three-point range. His perimeter shooting ability and all-around scoring chops makes him one of the top Class of 2028 prospects in the Fort Wayne area.

Bishop was a big part of West Central High School's success this season which included an 18-4 record that had them in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A Top 10 for most of the season. However, the Trojans lost in overtime to Tri-County who went on to advance to the Class 1A North Semi-State. Bishop, a 6'1" guard, averaged 16.7 points per game while shooting 47-108 (43.5%) from three-point range.

Jimtown lost quite a bit from their Semi-State team a year ago, but a couple of talented sophomores stepped up to fill in the gaps. One of those sophomores was this talented 6'2" guard that averaged 12.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the 15-9 Jimmies. Fey is a good athlete with positional size on the perimeter that flashed impressive playmaking chops throughout the season.

Many of us who have followed this Class of 2028 group coming up through South Ripley High School expected a big sophomore leap from [player_tooltip player_id='2539946' first='Eli' last='Gilpin']. He certainly delivered on that expectation. The athletic 6'3" guard averaged 15.4 points per while shooting 54-131 (41.2%) from three-point range. Pairing that level of shooting ability with what he can do off of the dribble as a down hill driver.

Lewis had a solid freshman at Northview, but then really broke out this past season for the Knights ultimately leading them in scoring. It is all about the physical tools for this 6'4" sophomore wing. He is incredibly strong and put together for his age. Lewis often bullies his way to the basket off of the dribble and physically dominates other players around the rim. He averaged 14.6 points and 5.9 rebounds for Northview who was ranked in the Top 5 of Class 3A all season long.

Delta High School reached their fourth straight Semi-State this season. The Eagles play at a slow and deliberate style that features balanced scoring. Lynch, a 5'9" sophomore guard, was second on the team in scoring at 9.8 points and also lead the way with 3.0 assists per game. Lynch can stretch the floor as a shooter, but is also a good playmaker off of the bounce.

Already a Top 25 prospect in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 Rankings, there isn't a lot of upward mobility to be had for Voltz. However, what he did do this year was solidify himself as a name to be known around the state. The sophomore guard averaged 14.6 points per game for a 23-4 Princeton Community team that advanced to the Class 3A South Semi-State. He is one of the best perimeter scorers in the class.
