A big, physical 6-5 wing who uses his frame to finish through contact at the rim, Abbott was really good in the Bombers' semifinal win over Carroll, scoring 19 points on 6-13 shooting (3-9 3P, 4-9 FT), 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block. He has really started to fill out his frame, especially in the upper body, and the added strength has helped him finish at a higher level at the bucket as well as added a fearlessness to him when he's attacking. He didn't have his most efficient shooting night from 3, but he made several big shots from distance, and is a really good shooter when he's shooting it off the catch and in rhythm.

Playing in his final game for Carroll, Mohr nearly helped deliver an epic comeback. He finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals and concluded a really strong week of play from him that should have grabbed the attention of small college coaches. An athletic, rangy wing who can score from all three levels, he has a real toughness about him.

Given the stakes of the game, this is without a doubt the best game I've ever seen [player_tooltip player_id='1765515' first='Jaidyn' last='Coon'] play (and he's played some great ones). The future Creighton wing played his heart out before fouling out early in the second overtime. He was aggressive on the glass, pulling down 18 rebounds, and he was dominant around the rim, routinely powering through contact for finishes. He didn't settle for jumpers, instead taking them within the flow of the offense when they were appropriate. A player with the combination of size, length, athleticism, and raw talent that Coon possesses rarely ever passes through Iowa, and I'm so happy that I got a chance to watch him play. He's a great kid, a phenomenal competitor, and a great ambassador for his community. Good luck at Creighton, Jaidyn. It's been a pleasure.

Lorensen was electric in ADM's double overtime win, scoring 38 points on 15-29 shooting (5-11 3P, 3-3 FT). Arguably the best pure scorer in the state, he had his full arsenal on display against one of the most athletic defensive teams he'll see. He's so efficient and understands how to get to the spots that he wants to get to so well, whether that's off the dribble or off of movement. His floater game is up there with any player that has come through the state in recent years, and he's a fearless, tough competitor. Upper Iowa is getting a great one.

The 6-4/6-5 lead guard had a pretty quiet first three quarters, but he took over the game down the stretch in regulation in was great in both overtimes periods. He has complete command of the offense, a great feel for the game, knowing when to attack and when to facilitate, and he does a great job using his body to shield the ball on his drives. He made a really tough runner at the end of regulation to even get the game into overtime, and then made two huge free throws with 10 seconds left in the second overtime to give ADM the lead. He finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win.

Boyd has had a sensational senior season, and he capped it with a fantastic performance in the Tornadoes' substate final loss. Like Lorensen, he really knows how to get to the spots he wants to get to, especially in the mid-range. He's nearly automatic from 15 feet and in, especially when he's shooting it off the bounce. He elevates into his jumper so quickly that it seems to catch defenders off guard, and he's able to shoot it uncontested. He knocked down big shot after big shot throughout the game. It sure looks like Briar Cliff is getting a steal with Boyd. He had 18 points on 8-13 shooting, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in the loss.
