Lorensen was electric in ADM’s double overtime win, scoring 38 points on 15-29 shooting (5-11 3P, 3-3 FT). Arguably the best pure scorer in the state, he had his full arsenal on display against one of the most athletic defensive teams he’ll see. He’s so efficient and understands how to get to the spots that he wants to get to so well, whether that’s off the dribble or off of movement. His floater game is up there with any player that has come through the state in recent years, and he’s a fearless, tough competitor. Upper Iowa is getting a great one.

A tad undersized — and that’s why he ended up Division II instead of D1 — Lorensen makes up for his under 6-foot frame with quickness as a ball-handler and a lightning-quick release. With the ultimate green light for the Tigers, Lorensen took full-advantage, finished the game with 34 points on 12-of-24 shooting from the floor and making 4-of-8 three-point attempts.

Able and unafraid to dribble through traffic and attack the rim, too, the Upper Iowa signee dips through and around defenders and screens to get around the bucket. Using an effective floater on top of the rest of his bag of tricks, Lorensen is a threat to score at all times within a reasonable distance of the basket.

Lorensen is one of the most effortless scorers in the state. The smooth lefty guard can fill it up from anywhere and is remarkably efficient, averaging 22.4 points on 53-46-94 shooting splits. He knows which spots he wants to get to and gets to them, whether its off the dribble or getting to the spot he wants to shoot it off the catch. He’s a highly intelligent, level-headed player who can take over games and quietly drop 30 on anyone.
