In a crowded yet productive room of contributing and impactful guards, [player_tooltip player_id='3243517' first='Michael' last='Moody'] underwent a breakout senior season that saw him provide extreme value with his steady shot making. Moody's emergence in Ramapo's rotation as a consistent and lethal shot maker, particularly as a spot up shooter off the ball, not only saw him more often than not settle into a nice rhythm from the perimeter with countless games with multiple made threes but also demonstrate intangibles that made him far more dangerous than his shooting percentages— unwavering confidence, finding passing windows to hunt his shot and stay shot ready, stepping into shots with smooth and balanced footwork, getting good elevation on his jumper, and shooting the ball with a quick and high release.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595764' first='Elijah' last='Williams'], a savvy and crafty guard off the bounce, often times found himself serving as a steady source of offense in Hudson Catholic's backcourt. In the midst of a number of solid individual scoring performances throughout the course of the season, Williams consistently applied pressure on the rim, getting into the paint with quickness off the dribble and using that penetration effectively to attack driving lanes and closeouts to finish in traffic around the basket and convert on soft touch runners. Somewhat of a diverse scoring attack, Williams also often times found a rhythm knocking down tough, contested jump shots—especially in the mid range area, showcasing his lethal pull up game off the bounce.

A reliable and consistent shooting guard who often upholds his reputation as a confident shot maker that primarily impacts the game from the perimeter, [player_tooltip player_id='2347867' first='Sage' last='Mateo'] reaffirmed that status throughout the course of his senior season— standing out with his ability to score from the outside with efficiency and confidence, whether spotting up off the catch or working as a movement shooter coming off different screens and pin downs while also showing comfort knocking down smooth mid range pull ups and getting to the basket for finesses finishes. As the season wained, the Cornell commit also showed some noticeable strides in his overall skillset— particularly with his facilitation and playmaking off the bounce, utilizing an improved handle and passing feel to create easy opportunities for those he shared the floor with.

A steady and dependable combo guard capable of producing at either guard spot and one who does much of his damage out on the perimeter as confident shot maker, [player_tooltip player_id='1790210' first='Tyler' last='Hammond'] stood out all season long with his potent shot making ability. Equally as comfortable and effective knocking down outside looks off the catch as a spot up shooter as he as an off the dribble shooter, Mateo put together countless performances with multiple made threes, including a game against Cinnaminson that saw him knock down 10 triples, that displayed his consistent shooting mechanics and repeatable shooting form— a true compact and quick release paired with smooth and balanced footwork and high shooting release, a constant off ball threat who thrives utilizing screens and pin downs who constantly forces closeouts and puts defenses in constant lapses.

A lightning quick point guard with glaring end to end speed who routinely excelled at setting the table and controlling tempo, [player_tooltip player_id='3300833' first='Ilijah' last='Adams'] leveraged that very quickness to consistently penetrate the paint and generate overall offense, while also affecting the game in transition. A frequent paint toucher, Adams essentially lived in the lane all season— finishing a variety of crafty attempts with excellent touch from different angles, including soft floaters in the in between area while also utilizing his strong court vision and natural feel as a passer to routinely draw multiple help defenders before finding open teammates across the floor. Known for his defensive mindset and much of what helped him stay on the floor leading up to his senior year, Adams also consistently made his presence felt on that end, showcasing quick hands, sharp anticipation, and well timed reads in the passing lanes to come up with steals and convert effectively in transition.

In a historic season that saw him become the program's all time leading scorer and firmly supplant himself as one of the best guards in program history, [player_tooltip player_id='2763494' first='Jayden' last='Solomon'] carried much of the momentum from his breakout junior season to reaffirm his status as one of the state's most dynamic lead guards. Solomon is an extremely talented guard with a natural instinct for making plays, night in and night out showcasing an ability to seamlessly handle either backcourt spot. Relentless in generating rim pressure while also possessing an innate feel for scoring, Solomon consistently got downhill off the bounce, finishing with craft and creativity in traffic around the basket while also often pushing the pace whenever possible to maintain that rim pressure in transition. Aggressive in getting downhill, Solomon handled the physicality of opposing defenders well all season, staying composed through bumps and heavy ball pressure intended to speed him up, which ultimately led to multiple trips to the free throw line. With such a high usage rate, Solomon consistency made a conscious effort to relieve some of the defensive pressure and create for his teammates, demonstrating excellent court vision both on half court dribble drives and in transition, consistently pushing the ball up the floor and delivering timely look ahead passes to generate scoring opportunities for teammates.
