Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id='2439640' first='Jevyn' last='Severson'] (Madrid)
24.5 points, 10 rebounds, 63.3 FG%, 35.7 3PT%, 75.2 FT%

A Power 4 football recruit, Severson has become one of the more coveted tight ends nationally in the class of 2028 with offers from programs like Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and others. The Madrid big man uses his multi-sport stardom to out-athlete basically anyone and everyone the Tigers faced this year. A skilled passer, playmaker, ball-handler, and scorer, Severson is easily one of the top players in his class, and if he decided to focus strictly on basketball, he could be a Division I hooper, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2595605' first='MarQwan' last='Morgan'] (Davenport North)
18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2 assists, 44.2 FG%, 76.5 FT%

The top scoring sophomore in 4A, Morgan is a twitchy 6-foot-3 guard that is virtually always in attack mode. Possibly the top isolation in the class, Morgan can take a defender in one-on-one off-the-dribble and contort his body to finish at the rim while absorbing contact. The best of defenders can be drawn into foul trouble or get lost on the perimeter thanks to his ball-handling skills and quickness. A growing shooter, Morgan can continue to shape his game with more consistent three-point shooting this summer and in his next two years of high school ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='3562510' first='Owen' last='Smith'] (Riceville)
22.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 53.7 FG%,

A 6-foot-4 forward that dominated the 1A competition this winter, Smith was a double-double machine, using his size to score and grab boards over anyone and everyone Riceville faced. Smith is more than just a big body at a small level, too. An underrated athlete, Smith does a good job of keeping his center of gravity low to the ground when putting his back to the basket and looking to score. He's is able to get leverage on his defender despite his size advantage, backing them down for easy layups or hook shot floaters for two.

[player_tooltip player_id='2772345' first='Tayden' last='Moret'] (Western Christian)
19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2 steals, 47.6 FG%, 81.2 FT%

A rising star, Moret jumped onto the state-wide scene this winter as the primary scorer for one of 2A's most successeful programs. As confident as they come, Moret was able to score basically at-will for the Wolf Pack. A smooth athlete and multi-sport star for Western Christian, particularly as a wide receiver on the gridiron, Moret did a little bit of everything this winter, stepping up in a major way to lead his team back to the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2523928' first='Vasaun' last='Wilmington'] (North Scott)
16.2 points, 4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.7 steals, 45.5 FG%, 39.8 3PT%, 73.1 FT%

A shifty guard with the ball on a string, Wilmington burst onto the scene this winter as part of the Lancers' talented squad. One of the better ball-handlers the state has to offer, the MOKAN guard has major potential in his ability to fly by defenders off the dribble, plus his vision as a passer and his ability to stop on a dime and get a shot up, showing flashes of doing all three this winter.

Second Team:

[player_tooltip player_id='2594655' first='Pete' last='Craig'] (Waukee)
[player_tooltip player_id='3433725' first='Peyton' last='Scott'] (Lamoni)
[player_tooltip player_id='2398477' first='Traeshon' last='Fields'] (Cedar Rapids Washington)
[player_tooltip player_id='2523908' first='Jaxen' last='Christiansen'] (Northeast)
[player_tooltip player_id='2523932' first='Kalan' last='Steinbeck'] (Council Bluffs Lincoln)

Honorable Mention: [player_tooltip player_id='2523893' first='Cooper' last='Hamilton'] (St. Albert); Matthew Ochalla (Gilbert), [player_tooltip player_id='2594659' first='Tyler' last='Wedeking'] (Aplington-Parkersburg), [player_tooltip player_id='2772327' first='Tade' last='Roberts'] (Hudson); Kylen Vanden Schaaf (Seargent Bluff-Luton); [player_tooltip player_id='2523891' first='Carter' last='Thielen'] (Lewis Central); [player_tooltip player_id='3424737' first='Evan' last='Stanislav'] (Glenwood)
