I caught Morgan play on Friday which was the second time watching him live this travel season. He is an elite combo guard with an arsenal of components which stick out on both sides of the ball. Offensively he comfortably fits into a 1 or 2 guard with a an elite shifty handle and quick burst that makes him a threat in multiple phases. Earlier this spring I watched his slashing ability and quickness in the open floor deem a really tough cover for defensives to stay in front of. This past weekend however he showed his shooting range is just as valuable of an asset. He is ready on the catch to go into his jumper with fundamental form. I also got to witness more of his court vision for an alley oop to his big throwing it from the 3 point line and getting a touch in the paint multiple times for quick spray out assists. Morgan is a top tier combo guard that will continue to gain plenty of traction on the recruiting trail.
Marqwan Morgan was making it look easy at the Prep Hoops Tune Up tournament on Friday. He buries shots from just about everywhere, including 3 point land. Connecting on a pair of treys. He also gets out in transition and will throw down dunks with power. Or he can facilitate quality chances for his fellow shooters when he draws the attention of the defense. If you’re a college coach, keep an eye out for him during the Live Period events the rest of the month.

. A twitchy athlete that can score, score and then score some more, Morgan’s ability to create with the ball in his hands should have programs salivating at the opportunity to have him as their lead guard.
One to gets shots off the dribble, including a nasty step back that creates a ton of space for him to work with, Morgan is a tough guard from tip to final whistle, forcing opponents to pressure him all game long. Morgan is at his best when he’s getting down hill and finishing through contact, as he wants the most efficient shots in the game — three pointers, layups and free throws.
The back court play of Marqwan Morgan is at a highly fast pace and rate. He impacts the game across a multitude of phases while playing alongside another elite guard in Amarion Smith-HolleyAmarionSmith-Holley

. These 2 will put up a competitive battle against anyone across the nation this Spring and Summer season with their rate of speed, high level intense defense, and jaw dropping bounce around the rim. What is best about Morgan’s game is his drive and competitiveness to play on both ends without skipping a beat. His valued playmaking skill is a given but his willingness to continue to play at a high energy rate every second is what will be the separation as he progresses through his career.
The top-ranked player in the 2028 class, Morgan is a hyper-athletic guard who loves to attack the rim off the dribble. He can finish through contact at a high level, knock down shots from the mid-range routinely, and is working to extend his range out to the arc with consistency. He has an innate feel for the game, great vision, and is a really gifted playmaker and shot creator for himself and his teammates. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as a freshman at North Scott, and he and his brother have transferred to Davenport North for their sophomore years.
The top-ranked player in the 2028 class, Morgan picked up his first two Division 1 offers over the summer (IU Indianapolis, Cal State Northridge), and many more will come. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as a freshman at North Scott, and has transferred to Davenport North to play his sophomore year. He’s a hyper-athletic, long, physical guard who can score from all three levels, create quality looks, and defend multiple positions. He’s outstanding with the ball in his hands.
