took charge when senior teammate Landon DeStigter went down with an injury part way through the year, and the growth and experience he gained throughout his sophomore campaign were on full display against Unity.
A major factor in the continued success of one of the more storied programs in western Iowa and in 2A, Moret stepped up in a massive way for the Wolf Pack in Des Moines, too. A decent-sized guard that can use the glass, shoot from outside and stop and pop, Moret seemingly always found a way to score. He finished with a team-leading 25 points, along with four rebounds and three assists.

Moret became one of the personal favorite players in the state last season, and is a player who I’m really looking forward to watching over the next three years. A strong, physical guard who takes real pride in his work on the defensive end, he’s one of the better on-ball defenders in the class. He’s also a skilled three-level scorer and playmaker with the ball in his hands, a high IQ creator who can play with or without the ball in his hands. He averaged 7.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game on 50-37-74 shooting splits as a freshman for the 2A champion Wolfpack.

Moret came off the bench as a freshman for the state champion Wolfpack, providing them with some scoring and playmaking. As a sophomore, he has a real chance to break out. He has really good size and is a tough guard who can play downhill and get to the rim or bury shots from distance routinely. He’s a high IQ, highly skilled guard who is going to be a star for Western.
