Our top ranked prospect in 2028, Lindsay continues to level up his game this season and was the best player on the court in this battle of the titans in the opening round. Lindsay started the game with an immediate paint touch and two foot finish to open the scoring. Going 5/6 from long distance, Lindsay hit a pull-up 3-pointer when a defender went under a screen and multiple 3-pointers on the wing off the catch. Lindsay also capped off the win with a 3-pointer from the corner to put the game on ice. One of the highest flying guards in the country, Lindsay had a couple monster transition dunks and almost took the roof off Rupp with a missed dunk that would've been one of the best I've seen in person.
Cameron did an excellent job of getting to the rim on Wednesday, taking all 11 of his field-goal attempts from inside 3-point range. An excellent left-handed finisher at the rim, Cameron had some sweet finishes off euro-steps and even had a quick lefty scoop on the right side of the rim. Cameron also was second in the game in assists with a couple of sweet outlet passes in transition. Great performance under the bright lights by Cameron.

Klein has continued to improve as the year went on and he came out of the gates playing with the most energy and aggression for St Xavier as Covington Catholic really punched the favored Tigers in the mouth to open the game. Knocking down two of his five 3-point attempts, St Xavier ran nice actions to get him looks and his teammates made on time passes to Klein when he was open. Klein's development being able to attack closeouts has been a major addition to the half-court offense of St Xavier and Klein going 3/4 from inside the arc is a key stat for him.

Playing with a lot of energy and aggressiveness on both ends of the court, Stava was one of the main reasons why Covington Cath held an early lead. Stava was playing tough on-ball defense, making shots off the catch and moving the basketball well against an aggressive St Xavier defense. While Covington Catholic will lose some stud seniors to graduation, they will still be at the top of the 9th region next year with guys like Stava and Brayden Myrick returning.

Our top ranked senior prospect certainly lived up to that billing on Wednesday with one of his future college coaches in attendance. This was my third North Laurel game of the season and Wednesday was by far Davidson's best effort of the three. Starting the game with a monster dunk in the lane, that set the tone for the type of physicality Davidson was going to play with all game long. Davidson had another dunk off a sweet BLOB set and knocked down all three of his pull-up 3-point attempts. Dominant effort by Davidson who simply willed his team to another win at Rupp Arena, a place he's played as well as anybody I've seen.

The size of North Laurel was a major difference on Wednesday as Cunagin made his presence known in the middle of the North Laurel zone defense and as a helpside defender when they were in man to man. Cunagin converted on all five of his free throw attempts in the contest. North Laurel still has some impressive talent returning next season but will want to make the most of Davidson's last playoff run.
