This 2026 class is almost done. Hard to believe it but we have had rankings for this class since they were Freshmen and have followed them all the way through their high school careers. There has been a TON of movement over the years with these kids in both the rankings and in their high school careers. This class has seen a ton of transfers into and out of (and often back into) the state over their careers. Let's break down the final edition of the rankings and focus on the Point Guard position.

Possibly the best shooter at the point guard position in this class, Edelen made the most of an abbreviated season after he returned to Louisville from OTE. Cole averaged 19 points per game and shot just under 42% from three for the year. He's headed to Western Kentucky in the fall.

McGillis will be on center stage with his Covington Catholic teammates in the most anticipated opening round game at the state tournament this week. Athens is a pure point guard in the sense that he takes pride in setting up his teammates and running a team. If he needs to score, he can but Athens does a lot for his team, every night out. He's headed to D2 Power Nova Southeastern for college.

Blaackar is an explosive scorer who had a really good career at Lloyd. He is a big time athlete that gets paint touches consistently on the offensive end and is a really good defender who can switch across multiple positions. Anthony once held multiple D1 offers and would be a steal at any level he signs at.

Another player who has held multiple D1 offers in his career, Craine has been the best guard in the 5th region for multiple years. Jaylin has a quick first step and can score the ball at a high clip. Craine has the ability to score or facilitate and should choose from multiple scholarship offers someday soon.

Cameron will be tasked with applying pressure on the aforementioned [player_tooltip player_id='1575699' first='Athens' last='McGillis'] on Wednesday morning. "Chief" is a dynamic point guard who gets downhill in a hurry and makes those around him better. A winning player that can absolutely lock down on defense, Cameron is a great athlete and a floor raiser for his team.
