We updated our rankings today on the site and have now ranked 230 prospects in the sophomore class with 34 new names. The full set can be found here. First we will break down our top 10 players in the class and how they stood out to our scouts over the course of the year. Let's dive in!

-Our #1 player in the class retains his spot at the top of our rankings after turning in a productive 2-way campaign for a rebuilding Bullis team. Skipworth extended his range to beyond the three point line, hitting shots both off the bounce and off the catch from all 3 levels with improved balance and consistency. Liked his versatility defensively for the Bulldogs as a guard that at points guarded all 5 spots, using his size to contest shots on the perimeter or scale up a few positions to guard bigs on the block on switches. Skipworth also flashed some playmaking ability with an increased role on the ball this year operating in middle ball screens for Bullis. Should continue to see his stock rise at a national level this summer playing up with TTO 17s on the EYBL Circuit.

-Avery showed his value as a versatile wing prospect that continues to add to his game for the Cavaliers. Avery proved much more capable of taking his matchup off the bounce from the wing, made improvements to his motor and attention to detail defensively, and improved his handle to get him up into his jumpshot more cleanly off the bounce. Consistency in his production will be key to turning heads this summer as a dynamic wing prospect with a ton of upside. But Avery possesses possibly the highest long-term upside in the class.

-Our scouts really liked the strides that Smith-Bey made throughout the season as a full time starter for a Cadets team that pushed PVI to the brink in the WCAC Championship game. Smith-Bey added value off the ball as a much improved shooter capable of knocking down shots from the wings and corners. His willingness to get his hands dirty defensively and on the glass really set the tone for SJC this season. Smith-Bey will look to build on that momentum playing up with New World's 17u group this offseason.

-Bogard's consistency over the course of the season earned him 1st Team All-BCL and MIAA nods, in addition to making 4th team All-MET as a sophomore for Spalding. Bogard continued to prove effective as a low post scorer and rebounded that really buoyed the Cavaliers at both ends of the floor. His finishing bag around the basket improved and his motor showed on the offensive glass to score on putbacks on the rare shots that he did miss around the rim. Bogard has also worked hard to improve his handle to operate more effectively on elbow or wing touches, getting to the rim efficiently and scoring through contact around the rim to force defenses to adjust to his production.

-Tarawally moved up two spots after averaging 26 ppg as the head of the snake for Gwynn Park this season. Tarawally grew an inch over the course of the season and built a stronger frame to allow him to create separation against guards or bigs in and around the paint this season to serve as an effective 3-level scorer. While he did improve the consistency of his jumper from outside the arc, he stuck with his bread and butter of playing bully ball on drives to the rim to either score or earn trips to the free throw line. He should turn some heads on the UAA circuit this season with DCP.

-The lightning quick point guard was sidelined with a lower body injury towards the end of the season but still proved to be an elite POA defender for a Quakers group that made it to their 5th straight DCSAA Championship game. The ball pressure, deflections, and steals that Washington generates as a POA defender that is REALLY difficult to screen unlocks a ton for Sidwell defensively. Had multiple 5+ steal performances this season that lead to increased scoring numbers as he consistently turned those TOs into points at the other end of the floor. His midrange jumper and finishing bag around the rim continue to improve but I really liked the passing reads that he made in tight spaces in the paint for his team.

-The big dog was super dynamic for a Purple Eagles group that exceeded expectations on I St this year under a first year head coach. Mbuyamba was especially productive down the stretch run of the season as he commanded double teams that freed up teammates on the perimeter or cutters on the opposite side of the key as a forward prospect that can both score and pass at a high level. Loved his unselfish play at both ends of the floor and thought that he improved his sprinting stamina to earn increased stretches of playing time over the course of the season.

-Stanfield's development was on a steady uphill trajectory over the course of the season, serving as an effective primary option in his sophomore year that has made improvements to his motor--especially on the defensive end of the floor. Stanfield got up for big games against other star players or high level teams, improving his defensive instincts over the course of the season to stay down on shot fakes and contest multiple putback opportunities around the rim to close out possessions for his team. His midrange is still his bread and butter but Stanfield is more effectively taking wings off the bounce to earn trips to the FT line or finish above the rim. It's often difficult to be one of the focal points at the top of the scouting report on a rebuilding team, but Stanfield got progressively better at remaining grounded emotionally to serve as a leader for a scrappy CH group that should improve on their win total next season. Really interested to see his Melo group this spring and summer.

-One of only two risers in our top 15, Brooks finished the season strong for his team to provide a steadying presence as a playmaking point guard that grew more comfortable finding opportunities to show that he can also score the basketball at a high clip. Brooks stepped into a bigger role down the stretch run of the season as a creator that plays with good pace off of ball screens, showing a good handle of some of the microskills within the halfcourt of waiting for the screen, taking the right angles, and making adjustments on the fly. He also grew more confident rejecting ball screens to get to 1-dribble pull-up jumpers on the baseline off the bounce and showed an aptitude for hitting the big at just the right moment on slips to the rim. Our scouts expect his recruiting to pick up quite a bit this offseason in his second year at the helm of what should be an explosive offense with [program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant'].

-One of the youngest prospects in the class, McQueen performed admirably as an underclassmen leader for a very young Landon group that made some waves in the IAC. McQueen's skill development showed steady improvement over the course of the season as a strong guard that can post up his matchup on the low block, make good decisions as a shooter and passer at the elbow, and make quick reads in transition. Our scouts expect him to gain more respect this offseason both locally and nationally as he plays up with the Washington Warriors' 17u group as a budding scoring combo guard.
