A matchup of northwest Iowa titans, a rematch between the Waukee schools and a couple of 2A squads face off for bragging rights.

No. 23 Carroll Kuemper (15-3) at No. 12 Storm Lake (13-1), Mon. Feb 2 at 7:30

In a battle of two of the top teams in northwest Iowa -- one 3A (Storm Lake) and the other 2A (Carroll Kuemper) -- we'll get a good look at just how close these two are, and if the smaller of the two, the Knights, will be a serious contender to win a state title in March.

Of course, everything starts with potential McDonalds All-American for Storm Lake, [player_tooltip player_id='1765515' first='Jaidyn' last='Coon']. The Creighton commit is one of the more explosive athletes in the state, not only throwing down thunderous dunks for the Tornadoes, but expanding his game and shooting from the outside, too. This season, Coon is averaging 23.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.2 assist, 1.8 steals and a block per game. Almost impossible for opposing teams to stop from scoring, Coon rivals the best scorers and overall players in the state.

He's got a complimentary lead guard that helps take on some of the offensive load, too. A Briar Cliff commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1765508' first='Cameron' last='Boyd'] may be the most underrated player in the state. A guard that can create his own shot and create for others, Boyd may get overlooked because of Coon's athleticism and playmaking, but the fellow senior is dangerous in his own right. Averaging 18 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game, all while shooting a wildly good 48.6% from three (34-of-70 so far this season), Boyd is amongst the best in the state in his own right.

Speaking of lights out shooting -- two of Kuemper's leading scorers, [player_tooltip player_id='1765503' first='Brock' last='Badding'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2420798' first='Griffin' last='Glynn'] are shooting 50% and 46.8% from three so far this season. Badding, known as one of the better shooters in 3A, is averaging 19.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.4 steals per game. Glynn, who is averaging 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

We haven't even mentioned their second and fourth-leading scorers, yet. [player_tooltip player_id='1765513' first='Ryan' last='Clair'], a fellow starter that stands at 6-foot-5, is averaging 16.7 points and 6.6 rebounds a game, while [player_tooltip player_id='2420805' first='Dylan' last='Schon'] is putting up 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

No. 2 Waukee Northwest (14-2) at No. 10 Waukee (13-2), Tues. Feb 3 at 7:45

Facing off for the second time this season, Waukee Northwest will be coming off just their second loss all year after taking on Wisconsin-based West Allis Central and falling, 75-65.

Likely a heavily motivated Wolves squad who throttled the Warriors, 80-58 on Waukee's home floor the last go-round, Northwest may be out to exorcise some demons and avoid a second-straight loss on Tuesday.

You've read plenty about Northwest's start-studded lineup that includes Nebraska commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1978099' first='Colin' last='Rice'] and Illinois commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1643192' first='Landon' last='Davis']. One of the top scoring duos in the state, Rice and Davis are currently combining to put up 36.1 points, 20.4 rebounds and 5.7 blocks per game.

Meanwhile, Waukee is riding the high of a nine-game winning streak and not taking a single loss in the month of January. After falling to Northwest and Dowling Catholic in back-to-back games in mid-December, the Warriors have been on a tear. Led by Texas A&M hoops and football commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1765524' first='Evan' last='Jacobson'], who is averaging 15.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, Waukee is as about as strong of competition the Wolves will face all year. Not far behind Jacobson is the trio of Jai White, [player_tooltip player_id='2594655' first='Pete' last='Craig'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1765539' first='Max' last='Roach'], who are each averaging between 11 and 12.9 points per game. Craig, a 6-foot-5 sophomore leads the Warriors in rebounds (7.7 per game), Roach leads the way in assists (4.1 per game) and White stands alone in steals (2.3 per contest).

The Wolves will either avenge the weekend loss, or the Warriors will kick 'em while they're down.

No. 28 Tri-Center (18-0) at No. 43 Treynor (14-3), Fri. Feb 6 at 7:30

Led by multi-sport star, [player_tooltip player_id='2420786' first='AJ' last='Harder'], Tri-Center has remained undefeated through nearly 20 games this season. Harder, the Trojans' leading scorer, is averaging 19.9 points, 6.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game so far this season, leading Tri-Center in all three statistical categories.

Behind their star, the Trojans go eight deep almost every night highlighted by fellow double-digit scorer, [player_tooltip player_id='2628806' first='Tyler' last='Baatz'], who is putting up 17.7 points and a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per contest.

Meanwhile, another competitive team in 2A, Treynor counters with a solid top two of their own. [player_tooltip player_id='1978103' first='Alec' last='Lovely'], who possesses one of the more polished skillsets on the Cardinals roster, puts up 16.2 points, 4.9 assists and 2.2 steals per game. [player_tooltip player_id='2413619' first='Corbin' last='Thien'] adds 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest, providing some more size to the Treynor roster. [player_tooltip player_id='2886836' first='Ethan' last='Hill'], the Cardinals' start quarterback on the gridiron this fall, isn't far behind Thien, either, averaging 9.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Treynor may have the edge on Friday, as the Cardinals lost their previous matchup with the Trojans by just three points on Tri-Center's home court.
