It was a busy week for our Prep Hoops Indiana staff getting out on the road and seeing some really good games in multiple locations in the state. For myself, I was able to get eyes on three different games where I was able to see some of our top prospects compete. Here are 8 players that stood out to me plus some scouting notes.

The Mount Vernon Fortville-Pike game was one of the more star-studded games you will find this season, but an under-the-radar guy that really stood out to me was junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2402390' first='Owen' last='Daugherty']. There is no debating it, Daughtery was one of the smaller prospects on the floor, but he did not lack confidence and was not afraid to make a moment happen. In a game that saw a legit 30 threes fall, Daugherty knocked down 4 of them finishing with 12 points in the tough overtime loss. One of the best pure shooters I have seen this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1728587' first='Luke' last='Ertel'] will always get the most focus out of anyone that watches or plays against Mt. Vernon-Fortville, but one of the best complimentary pieces for them is senior guard Jamaree Collins. A bouncy, dynamic off-ball guard, Collins was such an underrated playmaker in the MVF's game against Pike on Tuesday night by hitting tough shots and getting buckets off the bounce. Long term, he plays like a true three-and-D type of player with ability to make plays on the dribble. He finished with 19 points.

Southport suffered a tough loss on Thursday night vs Bloomington South, but the guy that stood out to me for the Cardinals was senior forward Samuel Lloyd. A guy that has always been a nice complimentary piece in the frontcourt alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2252551' first='James' last='Kalala']. In this game, it felt like Lloyd was the go-to option most of the time when Southport needed a bucket. He showed some strong play around the basket with solid skill and just pure strength. Did a really good job at getting to the free-throw

Out of all the prospects that I was able to get eyes on during week 12 of the season, junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2470608' first='Duncan' last='Combs'] might have been the one I came away most impressed with. To put things pretty simple, Combs is a very skilled stretch four that has such a smooth and consistent mid-range game. With Bloomington South being a team that likes to work the ball, Combs often gets the final touch where he often finds a scoring angle. He also showed some upside on the defensive end with his multiple blocks he had against Southport on Thursday night. A player to keep an eye on in the southern Indiana area.

The senior big man provides the one true post presence for Heritage Christian and that certainly played to their advantage in the game vs Fort Wayne Blackhawk. [player_tooltip player_id='1560993' first='Logan' last='Peters'] takes a lot of pride in getting in post-up actions using his length and wide frame to make himself known. He plays with true big man fundamentals and scored pretty-well over the smaller defenders that Blackhawk was throwing at him. Strong showing by the true center.

Probably the player that I saw have the most range during week 12 of the season was Heritage Christian guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140337' first='Caleb' last='Flint']. There seems to not be a spot on the floor that Flint doesn't feel comfortable shooting from. He hit multiple deep threes during the game vs Fort Wayne Blackhawk being a shooter that creates off the dribble. Real smooth shooting stroke with a lot of confidence in his release. Strong showing from one of our more under-the-radar scorers in the state.

One of our exciting young prospects that we have coming up the ranks is [player_tooltip player_id='2539827' first='Bryce' last='LaCross'] and getting a chance to watch him vs Heritage Christian, you see why. A lot of what Blackhawk does runs through LaCross and is game that can be tasked with that playmaker role. He is strong in the lane and gets to the basket at ease while also being a solid jump shooter and passer. Strong, athletic, skilled guard.

Blackhawk has many young prospects that have a lot of potential, but one of their senior leaders is small forward Jaeden O'Neal. At 6'4, O'Neal plays as the glue for the Braves as he is not a guy that is always going to put up the most points, but will be effective in multiple areas of the game. With his raw skill, he plays off the bounce on offense while also being a block hunter on the other ends. Just a consistent piece for the Braves that plays so hard.
