Hoops Against Hate Showcase: Top Forwards Regardless Of Class

Glenbrook South played host to the inaugural Hoops Against Hate Showcase on Saturday. The shootout featured 4 games from the school's athletic dome in Glenview. I was able to catch games 2, 3, and 4. There were plenty of players at this event who have already committed to their respective schools in college. In this sequence of articles covering the shootout, we'll take a look at uncommitted prospects per position. This list consists of top available small forwards and power forwards from the classes of 2026, 2027, and 2028 at today's event.    Highly recruited small forward consumed a lot of attention on the catch gaining +1 defenders throughout. Versatile frame with durable movement at size and competes. Stayed attentive and active for rebounds reading the ball well off misses on both ends. Had 2 impactful and1's to keep team's momentum. Cuts hard off pNr action to create space. Finished with a quiet 14. Overall a selfless worker who battles until the whistle blows.     True length and size for small forward position at the next level. Possibly a 3 dependent upon need. Utilizes wing span to advantage. Doesn't need space to fire away quickly from beyond the arc. Splashed in 3 3's on an efficient marker in today's action. Attacks the basket at times against similar size. Challenge to wall up on driver. Consumed contact multiple times after getting into the paint. Operates smoothly and knows how to utilize tangible advantages. Team high 11.     A big who can be utilized in the 4 and 5 spots at the next level. Stretches the floor out at times but mostly advantageous on the interior presence. Soft hands on the catch in dump off areas. Gained position on block with frame and footwork for baby hook over size. Made a quick cut in the lane for retrieval and score. Doesn't force and let's play develop.     Spot up shooter from beyond arc. Possesses long wing span. Hands and feet are ready on the catch to let it fly. Efficient shot maker to begin game going 4 of 7 from 3 land. Worked inside more during second half. Made a retrieval from 5 feet and hit jumper in stride. Also caught it on the block for 1 dribble drop step and score for and1. Dynamic ability. Finished with game high 19.     Strong bodied athlete that endures the physicality of the game. Plays bigger than size. Battled hard on the glass in first half coming up with multiple offensive rebounds vs more height. Confident on takes in traffic. Showcased soft touch with an up and under scoop finish. Drew contact to get to stripe. Keeps up with pace during up tempo phases. Competes underneath with positive effort.     Versatile stretch 4 at next level. High motor with active skills. Stasys affects the game in more ways than 1. Has handle ability, can see the floor, work in tight spaces, and defensively impacts. Will sacrifice for charges to turn momentum. Offensively cleans up the boards for put back opportunities.
