The second week of February is here, meaning conference tournaments are getting into gear. Union County is loaded with talent in the back court capable of putting up big performances over the next couple of weeks. Here are the guards to watch during the Union County Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2344521' first='Micah' last='Gordon'], 6'0 PG Plainfield 2027

Gordon has been playing like the potential State Player of the Year as he looks to lead the Cardinals back to the Union County title. The 6'0 guard is dynamic off the bounce as he blows by his defender off the bounce and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. Gordon can shoot either off the catch or bounce and plays with composure on the ball. He pushes the pace well in transition and uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense. Gordon is the top ranked prospect in the 2027 class and should put it on display this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1729825' first='Trey' last='Lewis'], 6'3 CG Roselle Catholic 2026

Lewis has been filling up the box score all season long as he has a quadruple-double along with multiple triple-doubles this season. The 6'3 guard uses his handle to get into the lane and is a crafty finisher around the rim. Lewis threads passes to his open teammates and can also play off the ball. He has the length to defend both backcourt spots and fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Lewis is a versatile guard prospect who should put his game on full display during the county tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595682' first='Jayden' last='Holman'], 6'1 PG Linden 2026

Holman leads the way for a balanced Tigers' attack that is looking to make noise this county tournament. The 6'1 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to get to the basket off the bounce and finishes well around the rim. Holman can also score in the mid-range and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He works hard on the defensive end and can also play off the ball. Holman is a gritty guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201953' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'], 6'1 CG Elizabeth 2027

Johnson has been one of the top guards in the county this season, averaging nearly 24 points per game. The 6'1 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Johnson is more than just a shooter as he can also get into the paint off the bounce and has a good touch in the mid-range. He moves well without the ball in his hands and jumps passing lanes on the defensive end. Johnson has five 30-point games this season and is looking to add to that total during the county tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504886' first='Malik' last='Moore'], 6'3 PG/CG Union Catholic 2028

Moore is one of the top sophomores in the class and should put it on display over the next couple of weeks. The 6'3 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and is unafraid of drawing contact. Moore uses his size to see over his defender and rises up nicely on his jumper. He is an underrated passer and gets deflections on the defensive end. Moore is a talented guard prospect who should put up big numbers for the Vikings over the next couple of weeks in the state tournament.

Other Prospects to Track:

Reed Flood, 6'0 PG Union 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='2875973' first='Max' last='MacEacheron'], 6'0 SG/PG Westfield 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2766960' first='Ryan' last='Fay'], 6'0 PG/CG Oratory 2026
