Mustang vs. Choctaw's second district game was a highly anticipated matchup. Choctaw started the game hot, striking first against the Broncos. Choctaw shot at least 50+ percent from three in the first half — they were lighting it up from beyond the arc. Multiple Choctaw players knocked down threes that really stretched floor for Choctaw giving their isolation players a better opportunity score with Mustang not able to help off shooters. Two players that kicked it off early for Choctaw were [player_tooltip player_id='2218106' first='Steven' last='Anderson'] and Titus Hawk. Steven was scoring on all three levels, transitions layups attacking the rim off the dribble mid ranges and also added in a pull up three off the dribble. Titus on the other hand scored the ball by running the floor in transition offensive rebounds leading to second chance points he also knocked a down a catch and shoot three which is huge coming from him. If he could make that consistent in his game he will be dangerous.

Another one of Choctaw's best players, [player_tooltip player_id='2283661' first='Jordan' last='Valentine'], had himself a solid game, leading all scorers for Choctaw. Valentine really excelled when Mustang threw a 1-2-2 and extended 2-3 look. He found the right spaces between the zone and broke it down very well leading all scorers for choctaw with 17 pts. Choctaw's bench production was great also — their role players played solid defense and knocked down shots when needed.

The Broncos responded very well to Choctaw's great shooting performance early in the game. Mustang players were really aggressive getting to the rim and played inside-out, which led to a really good flow of offense for them. [player_tooltip player_id='2326939' first='Gabe' last='Osborne'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140772' first='Mar'Quell' last='Robinson'] started the game off strong for Mustang. Gabe attacked the rim, knocked down threes, and harassed defenders. He also had a monster chase-down block after turning the ball over and a ferocious dunk in transition. Osborne led all scorers with 20 points. Quell handled the ball really well and made timely shots every time it seemed like Choctaw was about to make a run. He also shot well from the line and added 10 rebounds.

The junior guard duo weren't the only players causing havoc — Mustang had six players in double figures. [player_tooltip player_id='2464132' first='Scyon' last='Wilborn'] made an impact in the game. He did what he normally does: throwing dimes, orchestrating the offense, taking the right shots, and playing solid defense. Wilborn's ability to control the offense and distribute to his teammates is the best part of his game he is a pass first point guard which is kind of rare to see in high school basketball today.

A player who really stood out was JayTee Johnson. He came off the bench in the second half and made the biggest impact on the game. He was a pest on defense in the lanes, ripping defenders and providing constant on-ball pressure. He also gave Mustang a smooth cushion after scoring about seven straight points. He was very big off the bench and ended with double figures. Senior guard JayTee Johnson adds years of varsity experience to this mustang roster as they go forward he will play a huge role.

[player_tooltip player_id='2712639' first='Garrett' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1552351' first='Drew' last='Reynolds'] provided what they do on a nightly basis.Garrett played very well in his matchup against Choctaw standout Titus Hawk. He played well with his back to the basket, using a lot of pump fakes and nice footwork. He also had some monster dunks and ended the game with a reverse lob from Osborne. [player_tooltip player_id='1552351' first='Drew' last='Reynolds'] knocked down some threes and mid-range shots. He continued to shine in his role for Mustang and helped his team to a great victory over a very tough opponent.
