2A Tourney: Two Key Players on Each Team (Pt 2)

Get to know two key players from each of the teams fighting to move on in the 2A state tournament. We're looking at the matchups between the bottom eight seeds, who are playing to stay alive Friday and Saturday.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#5 Tumwater</h3>   Luke Overbay 9.3 pts, 11.1 reb, 2.8 ast, 1.2 stl, 1.3 blk   Athletic forward whose presence on the glass has been huge this winter. Shows good reactions around the rim, off the ball, and defending inside.   Landon Anchors 12.8 pts 3.9 reb, 2.4 ast, 1.1 stl   The junior guard is the leading scorer and has been extremely reliable at the foul line (80%). Look out for him finding ways to manufacture buckets and help Tumwater control the pace.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#4 Pullman</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2375341' first='Cade' last='Rogers'] 13.9 pts   Versatile ballhandler and playmaker at his size who has shown some improvements shooting from deep too. Will be key in spreading the ball around and running their offense.   [player_tooltip player_id='3163517' first='Vaughn' last='Holstad'] 15.1 pts   Co-MVP of his league, Holstad made a big impression with his paint scoring and efficiency. Shot 40% behind the arc too, while rebounding at a high rate for a guard.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#16 Franklin Pierce</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2726701' first='Hakeen' last='Collins'] 18.0 pts, 7.7 reb, 1.2 stl, 1.2 blk   Super athletic guard/wing who can get downhill and use his power/size to get to the rim. Relentless inside and has that quick jump to get to his own misses and clean things up.   Aiquari Johnson 17.3 pts, 2.7 reb   An efficient scoring guard who has done it inside and out. Hit multiple threes in 13 of their games and emerged as a reliable scorer this winter.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#9 Lynden</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2729681' first='Spencer' last='Adams'] 17.5 pts, 8.2 reb, 4.5 ast, 1.5 stl   Powerful wing who can get downhill but also has the smooth shot to stretch the floor and put pressure on defenses inside and out.   [player_tooltip player_id='2464769' first='Ty' last='Jorgenson'] 11.7 pts, 4.3 reb   Athletic forward who is a strong rebounder and can operate pretty effectively around the paint with high post and short corner catches. Moves well off the ball and has some big bounce.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#15 Foster</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2625610' first='Myjeer' last='Rigney'] 14.8 pts, 2.0 reb, 2.2 ast, 1.6 stl   Sneaky defender who will pressure the ball and find ways to force turnovers. Can hit the three and has some craft working to the rim and finishing around bodies.   [player_tooltip player_id='2628459' first='Tanner' last='Jordan Simpson'] 13.2 pts, 4.1 reb, 3.8 ast, 2.9 stl   Smooth shooter who can get to his spots and plays balanced off the dribble. Can be pretty shifty working off the dribble and can score from each level.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#10 Bainbridge</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2628458' first='Ryan' last='Rohrbacher'] 20 pts   Smooth shooter with some size who's shown some more ability to find space in traffic, work angles to the hoop, and play with some patience to find shooting windows around the paint.   [player_tooltip player_id='2935280' first='Kaden' last='Thielman'] 11.9 pts   Athletic, long wing who can space the floor, but really at his best working downhill and getting to the rim. Uses that length and athleticism to make some plays defensively as well.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#14 Clover Park</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2927154' first='Marshall' last='Scott'] 26.5 pts, 11.6 reb, 3.8 ast, 2.7 stl, 1.2 blk   He's the guy you need to stop if you want to beat Clover Park. Shoots the three well, always looking to push and attack the paint when he gets the ball, and has the strength and determination to go at you all game.   Ijohn Taylor 13.6 pts, 4.5 reb, 2.5 ast, 2.0 stl   He's a key shooter to opening up some things in the middle for his teammates to go to work. Can also help push the rock in transition and look to keep the pace high when they have numbers.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#11 Columbia River</h3>   Kellen Clary   Strong wing who can shoot the rock. Does a good job playing balanced on his attacks and makes it tough on defenses with his ability to stroke from outside and attack downhill with strength.   [player_tooltip player_id='3192024' first='Alex' last='Pont']   Solid guard who can separate efficiently, has a smooth jumper, and can dart down gaps to work to the hoop.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#13 West Valley-Spokane</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2674683' first='Nathan' last='Zettle'] 16.9 pts   Co-MVP of his league and a pretty smooth scorer from all over. Has extended range from 3-point as well as some acrobatic ability by the rim.   [player_tooltip player_id='2569413' first='Noah' last='Willard'] 17.3 pts   Really smooth shot off the catch, and working to space off the dribble. Also does a great job contributing on the glass for a team that lacks a little size down low.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">#12 Lakewood</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='2622822' first='Caleb' last='Greenland']   He's been the guy at Lakewood for the last two years and really sets the tone for them. Has strength to attack gaps and hold his line, but also can get going from deep.   [player_tooltip player_id='3258626' first='Derek' last='Wilson']   Active guard who can help them with his pace and slashing. His activity keeps the offense flowing, and he does a good job shifting defenses with his penetration.
