We've updated the 2027 rankings this week that includes a total of 250 prospects. There were plenty of risers that we'll have broken down on the site this week and for this article, I highlight five names who have helped build their case with strong junior campaigns.

If the last time you saw Jeffers was in the summer, you'd be pleasantly surprised to see him now not only because he sprouted 2-to-3 inches within that timeframe, but his confidence and overall skill continue to trend in the right direction. Jeffers has been a rim protector for a DeMatha team that prides themselves on ball pressure with their guards. A lot of time they can be ultra aggressive with the peace of mind that Jeffers is standing in the paint with ability to erase mistakes or potential gambles. On the offensive side he's finishing above the rim with power, showing progression with touch on his over the shoulder hooks and the same can be said with his face-up mid-range jumper. Jeffers is still just scratching the surface of the player he has the potential to be, but the production is becoming more consistent, which warrants a boost just as he sits just outside of the top-20.

Brooks has blossomed into one of the best prospects in the PG Public School sector and it won't be long until he barges himself into the conversation for one of the most productive players in the state. Through seven games, the 6-foot-6 offensive hub averaged 25.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. For what he lacks in vertical athleticism, Brooks makes up for with his big-bodied frame that he knows how to use in order to expose mismatches against smaller guards/forwards. For more physical, slow-footed forwards, Brooks can play out on the perimeter or in the mid-range on face-ups and use his craft off the bounce to create the necessary angles or space to get his shot off. When the ball is airborne on either end, Brooks does a nice job of establishing leverage deep in the paint to position himself for boards. He's a verbal leader and it doesn't take long to see that this Flowers team runs off his intensity and energy.

As usual, head coach Chris Lun has Whitman rolling as they currently sit 7-1 and Williams' production has played a huge role in the success. As a team, they play a well-balanced and structured style of basketball that will take advantage of the opposition when possible in the open floor, but prides themselves on the consistent execution of sets in slowing it down in the half court. Williams provides the presence of a guy who can call his own number when needed. Averaging 16.8 points per game, Williams has displayed improvement in his three-level scoring. Since his freshman season, he's been able to use his burst and strong frame to get to the rim, but over the last year or so, his pace, balance and wiggle have all progressed along with the threat that he can pose as as shot maker from both mid-range and three.

I've covered Jones pretty extensively here since our Expo, but it was all well deserved praise as the Mount St. Joseph transfer is evolving into one of the better public school prospects in Baltimore. While its been a season of ups-and-downs from a winning perspective for New Town, a couple of mid-season transfers to bolster their backcourt needs should result in a streak of wins in county play. As for Jones, he's been one of the few consistent factors for head coach Derek Wise. A skilled, 6-foot-6 forward who you can run your offense through from the top of the key or the mid-post, Jones has shown efficiency as a scorer as well as a decision-maker. He anticipates double teams well and is always keyed in on where the rotation came from in order to locate the open teammate. He holds down the effort on the boards, poses as a switchable defender and can finish with authority when he has a clear takeoff path on his way to the bucket.

Olorungbohunmi has no issues passing the eye-test as the 6-foot-4 southpaw guard/wing brings a strong, chiseled frame to the table. PGCA has pulled off some impressive victories this season against some marquee teams in the DMV. Heading into the year, it was assumed that much of the offense would revolve around [player_tooltip player_id='1782657' first='Neiko' last='Mundey'], but given Mundey's decision to enroll at Texas A&M early, it left a massive void that Olorungbohunmi and others have stepped into nicely. He brings a good blend of scoring as a downhill threat who can throw down poster dunks with his strong hand or let it fly from deep with fluid, compact mechanics. The physicality that he brings can be seen initiating contact on drives or his ability guard up a position or two without posing as a mismatch.
