I was down in Yakima for the Wilbur-Eills SunDome Shootout on December 29th and 30th. I already highlighted some of the standouts from day one of the action, and here are some more standouts from day two, highlighting the juniors and sophomores making an impact in Yakima.

Was really impressed with his fight and resiliency down in Yakima. It didn't result in the win against West Valley, but Freeman was consistently getting into the paint against the Rams. He's another twitchy athlete and showed he can separate, as well as create space for tough buckets in traffic. Came up with some big plays at the end of their Davis victory on Monday too, getting a steal after a layup and setting up his teammate for three to help extend the game into overtime.

Lynden was without two of their top players down in Yakima, and Bedlington ended up playing a pretty key role for the Lions. Did a lot of attacking downhill and set up quite a bit for the Lions by getting his man on his back and drawing up extra defenders or going all the way to the cup. He's a solid guard who competed on both ends throughout both of their games in the SunDome.

Pepper was really impressive again on day two, helping Selah beat Lynden 68-62. He was getting it done offensively in just about every way. Making creative moves in the midrange for some clean jumpers, barreling through gaps downhill to the hoop, finding well-timed dump-offs through the defense on his drives, and stretching the floor with some deep makes from three.

Did a little bit of everything again for the Hounds. Dropped in some threes, showed good touch on shorter shots over defenders, tipped and corralled a couple of steals in passing lanes, big boards on both ends, and even showed good poise and enough skill to handle the rock under some pressure and traps late in the game.

It was a tough two-day stretch for the Spartans with close losses to Zillah and Grandview, but Rohrbacher showed a lot of fight in their day two loss to the Hounds. Came out of the gates locked in from distance and showed the crowd one of the more automatic and buttery 3-point shots they'll see this season. As the game got later and was still within reach for Bainbridge, he made a couple of great backcuts on high denials and was really effective at pumping defenders inside to get looks under the basket.

The big-energy big man showed his value to the team on Tuesday with some great hustle plays, from long and contested rebounds to blocks and steals, and even led the bench in some hype tactics later on. He's a competitor who has the length to be a real factor defensively and on the glass.

A powerful driver who really commits when he sees a lane open up, and constantly had defenders bouncing off him on his way to the hoop. Did a good job attacking closeouts and finishing with focus through contact.
