State Association Standout Scorers: Rhode Island

We continue to take a look at some of the Standout Scorers in New England today, with a trip to the Ocean State - Rhode Island.   Rhode Island has multiple levels of competitive basketball across their high school ranks, and maybe most enoyably, hosts a state-wide tournament at the conclusion of their divisional tournaments, in which they crown a true state champion.   Here are five prospects that have made a name for themselves with their scoring ability this winter in the RIIL:    Satisfield, a senior guard out of Barrington High School, is one of the RIIL's premier athletes and the reigning state indoor-champion in the high jump. Capable of going for 20+ points in any given night on the hardwood, he's a crafty ball-handler that thrives in transition, where he can put pressure on the defense and finish at the rim with authority. He has a quick first step off the bounce, does a nice job of playing through contact as a driver, and has the ability to knock down shots from behind the three point line off the catch and off the bounce.     Casey, a senior guard out of Portsmouth High School, has been a driving force in his team's success in recent weeks, showing a versatile scoring arsenal and the ability to get clutch baskets down the stretch of games. He's proven to be capable of going off for 30+ when his team needs it and can score it in bunches when he gets going from behind the arc. He does a nice job of running the floor in transition, finishes with length around the rim, and has the ability to make plays off the bounce, showing nice touch as a mid-range scorer.     Delbrey, a senior guard out of Classical High School, recently became his school's all-time leading scorer with 1,667 career points. The 6'1" guard is a plus athlete that can really get out and make plays in the open floor. He finishes above the rim in space, can finish tough plays at the rim through contact, and is comfortable stepping into his jumper off the bounce from behind the three point line. He's a true three level scorer that gets into his shot quicky in catch and shoot situations, shows high level instincts as an off-ball cutter, and has the ability to score in late-clock isolations situations off the bounce.     Mburu, a junior guard out of the Moses Brown School, is arguably one of the top mid-range scorers in the RIIL. The 6'2" lefty does a great job of getting to his spots off the bounce, showing a high level feel for the game with the ball in his hands and the ability to play at his own speed in the half-court. He's a good athlete with plus length that does a nice job of attacking closeouts and scoring around the rim off his drives. Beyond that, he's expanded his game to the three point line and proven to be a consistent shooter from behind the arc.     Tarro, a senior wing out of La Salle Academy, is one of the premier athletes in the RIIL and a two-way standout on the hardwood. The 6'3" wing thrives as an off-ball scorer, showing good instincts as a cutter and the ability to finish plays in a variety of ways around the rim. He does a nice job of battling on the offensive glass, can finish with authority above the rim in space, and has even started to consistently knock down perimeter jumpers in catch and shoot situations. On top of all that, he's one of the top wing defenders in the state and does a nice job of quickly turning steals into transition scoring opportunities.
