Today, we'll continue to take a look at some of the Standout Scorers in New England, with a trip to the state of Massachusetts.

The MIAA consistently produces some of the top high school players in the region and this winter has proven to be no different, as the state is packed with talent all over the board.

Here are five prospects that have been lighting it up in gyms across Massachusetts this winter:

Lopez, a senior guard out of Central Catholic High School, has made an impact with his ability to score the basketball for four years now in the MIAA. He recently became Central Catholic's all-time leading scorer and has accumulated over 1,600-points so far at the varsity level. The 6'2" guard had a 36-point outing at the Hoophall Classic and is a threat to go for 25+ any time he takes the floor. He's really improved as a perimeter shooter, particularly in DHO actions and catch and shoot situations; while also continuing to shine with his ability to score in isolations. He's crafty around the rim, has the strength to play through contact as a driver, and is arguably, the best late clock scorer in any of the six state associations.

Roux, a junior guard out of Andover High School, has spent the season establishing himself as not only one of the MIAA's top perimeter shooters, but also one of the state's top overall scorers. Through 9 games this winter, he was averaging over 26.0 points per game and shooting an astounding 47% from three point land. If you had to pick one MIAA prospect to win you a three point contest, he's probably that guy. What stands out most about his game is that he rarely forces the issue and instead, finds his scoring in the flow of the offense. Beyond having in-the-gym range on his jumper, he makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and has shown progress as a scorer in the paint, particularly when leveraging his shooting to attack closeouts.

O'Neill, a sophomore guard out of Swampscott High School, was featured here as an "Underclassman to Watch" before the season began and has certainly lived up to that billing this winter. O'Neill kicked off the season in style by going for ultra efficient 43 points, that included 7 made threes. The 6'2" guard plays with a whole lot of skill, but also seperates himself with his toughness and work ethic. While he's a primary on-ball option for Swampscott, he's shown the ability to get off the ball, find space in the defense, and get hot in a hurry from behind the arc in catch and shoot situations. Where his game has really developed is off the bounce, as he's turned himself into one of the better mid-range scorers in the MIAA this year.

Behrmann, a senior guard out of Medfield High School, has been on an absolute tear scoring the basketball lately, including a three-game stretch recently where he averaged 33.0 points per game. If you're looking for a breakout performer out of Massachusetts this winter, you don't have to look any further than Behrmann, who has already helped Medfield capture their first TVL Small School title since 2016. The 6'0" guard has some wiggle with the ball in his hands, shows the ability to finish over size in the paint with touch, and does a nice job of turning defense into transition offense. He has a quick first step off the bounce, does a nice job of playing off different gathers as a driver, and can knock down shots in isolations from behind the arc with consistency.

Brown, a junior guard out of Charlestown High School, has burst onto our radar in recent weeks, having arguably the most impressive individual scoring performance in the state just last week. There might not be anyone playing better basketball in the city of Boston right now than Brown, as the 6'1" guard is scoring it at a high clip and regularly getting his teammates involved. He's incredibly shifty with the ball in his hands and one of the more creative finishers around the rim in any of the state associations. He's playing with the utmost confidence right now and it shows in his ability to control a game in the half-court and in transition, while getting buckets at all three levels. While he really impresses when getting downhill and finishing at the rim, he's also proven to be a consistent shooter from behind the arc, making himself that much more difficult of a cover for opponents.
