Mburu, a junior guard out of the Moses Brown School, is arguably one of the top mid-range scorers in the RIIL. The 6’2″ lefty does a great job of getting to his spots off the bounce, showing a high level feel for the game with the ball in his hands and the ability to play at his own speed in the half-court. He’s a good athlete with plus length that does a nice job of attacking closeouts and scoring around the rim off his drives. Beyond that, he’s expanded his game to the three point line and proven to be a consistent shooter from behind the arc.

Mburu, a member of the 16U HGSL squad, is a versatile guard out of the Moses Brown School. A lefty that scores with length and athleticism at the rim, he’s probably further ahead in his development on the defensive end of the floor right now. With long arms, wiry strength, and the mobility needed to move well laterally, he can guard any spot on the floor and does so in a disruptive manor. Offensively, he does a great job of running the floor in transition, finishes with his left hand at the rim, and has started to show signs of consistency as a shooter from behind the arc. With his two-way versatility and budding skillset, he’ll be a prospect to monitor going forward.

Mburu impressed on the offensive end as a slasher. He was able to score going downhill or hit shots from behind the arc. His size and length make him a mismatch nightmare. He was active on the interior and had no problem doing the dirty work for his squad. He can guard multiple positions.

Mburu, a high academic prospect at Moses Brown, burst onto the scene in his first year of high school. A bigger guard, Mburu already stands out on the defensive end of the floor where his length and activity level allow him to have a huge impact on the game. He does a good job of sliding over from the help position to protect the rim, walls up in the post without commiting fouls, and is quick to jump passing lanes for easy steals that lead to run outs. Offensively, he’s a consistent shooter in catch and shoot situations and uses his length to finish at the rim. The lefty has some nice burst off the bounce and is already an above average athlete. He should be a go to scorer for Moses Brown this winter.

is a shooting guard who shows the groundwork for becoming a future stud in the college game. He can shoot the ball well from the corner spots, with a smooth left-handed jump shot. Mburu can also make the right decisions with the ball, using his high IQ to create opportunities for teammates even without being in charge of running the offensive show. He runs well on the fast break as well and scores effortlessly at the basket. Mburu’s defense is also impressive for his age, using a nice base and athletic wiggle, along with great timing, to create turnovers. Mburu is still in the early stages, but he looks like a player who should continue to get better and should be a player coaches will covet.
