On Friday January 16th, Evansville Harrison will play host to the 6th Annual Banterra Bank Warrior Showcase. A two day event that will have three games on Friday night followed by seven games on Saturday. Here is a preview of the three Friday Night Games:

Schedule

Game 1: Arsenal Tech vs Evansville Harrison

Game 2: Hopkinsville (KY) vs Evansville Reitz

Game 3: Indianapolis Cathedral vs Evansville Bosse

Game Previews

Arsenal Tech vs Evansville Harrison

Arsenal Tech comes into the matchup just 3-7, but winner of their last contest over KIPP Legacy. The Titans are led by the senior trio of Salmone Mitchell, [player_tooltip player_id='1728675' first='Elexander' last='Harris'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2414594' first='Qualin' last='Lollis']. They combine for 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.

Evansville Harrison is one of the more surprise teams in the Southwest Indiana. Winners of 5 out of their last 7 games, the Warriors rely heavily on their young talent. 6'5” Freshman Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2889976' first='Romyiez' last='Calvin'] is a double-double threat every game out leading the Warriors at 13.3 points and 7.4 rebounds. Freshman Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3253027' first='Aiden' last='Terry'] also in double figures at 11.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. Sophomore Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2821857' first='Amaury' last='Harrell'] has turned a corner and continues to get better and better every time I see him.

Hopkinsville vs Evansville Reitz

Hopkinsville (KY) comes in winners of 5 of their last 6 games and 10-7 overall. The Tigers have four players averaging double figures led by senior James Bradley averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds per game. With only four seniors on the roster, Hopkinsville relies on a slew of underclassmen including Jonovan Leavell and Jayon Bass, a talented sophomore duo combining for 21 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Evansville Reitz started the season 5-2 before the holiday break and went through a gauntlet of a two week stretch with losses to Noblesville, Brebeuf Jesuit, Decatur Central, and Jasper. The Guard, Wing, Forward combo the Panthers have had a good start to the season. Senior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2466252' first='Preston' last='Tolliver'] leading the way averaging 17.2 points and 6.8 rebounds. Freshman Wing [player_tooltip player_id='3254540' first='Grayson' last='Dease'] is a double-doible threat every game averaging 12.2 points and a team high 7.2 rebounds. Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2892526' first='Tim' last='Swope'] rounds out the trio averaging 10 points and 5.5 assists per game running the show from the point guard spot.

Indianapolis Cathedral vs Evansville Bosse

The night cap for night one of the Banterra Bank Warrior Showcase is a potential Class 3A Semi-State preview between two of the top programs in the state with rich basketball history. The Indianapolis Cathedral Fighting Irish led by Coach Jason Delaney have a hit a rough patch of the season after starting 7-0, have lost three of their last four games to fall to 8-3. Detroit Mercy bound Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1561135' first='Keaton' last='Aldridge Jr'] leads the Irish averaging 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game as that Swiss Army Knife player that impacts the game in multiple ways. Mount St. Mary's bound Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561435' first='Julien' last='Smith'] follows at 17.5 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 44% from 3. A look into the future for the Irish is Freshman Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2955304' first='Ryan' last='Gold Jr'] having a nice start to his high school averaging 8.3 points and 2.7 assists per game.

Evansville Bosse comes into this high profile matchup winners of 5 of their last 6, including a big win over Princeton last Saturday night. The emergence of 6'6” Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1760994' first='Dorion' last='Bowen'] has jump started the Bulldogs in this winning streak. In the last two games he's averaging 25 points and 6 rebounds. Versatile offensive weapon that can play on or off the ball and defends at a high level. Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2172596' first='Marrius' last='Harris'] is second on the team in scoring averaging 16.1 points to go along with 3.1 assists and 2 steals per game.
