Below are five upperclassmen guards that we expect to have strong seasons in the VPA.

Wood, a senior guard out of Rutland High School, makes his impact in a variety of ways, showcasing both playmaking and scoring prowess. He does a nice job of making plays off the bounce, drawing a second defender, and then finding his teammates for open shots. As a scorer, he's capable of knocking down threes in bunches, but also shows the ability to get into the paint, where he can score over size with touch.

Munezero, a junior guard out of Burlington High School, could be one of the state's breakout performers this winter. A plus athlete, he's dynamic in transition, where he showcases good burst, creativity, and some touch around the rim. He moves well without the basketball and continues to improve as a perimeter shooter. Defensively, his ability to apply pressure on the ball stands out.

Robertson, a senior guard out of Burlington High School, should run point for the defending state champs. Burlington's back-court will be a focal point for opponents this season and Robertson should direct the show, as his feel for the game and ability to create off the bounce stand out. He's a quality finisher around the basket, delivers timely passes off drives, and doesn't seem to get sped up when he has the ball in his hands.

Comba, a senior guard out of South Burlington High School, is a two-way terror with his ability to score the basketball and to create turnovers. Offensively, he utilizes a quick first step to get into the paint, where he's capable of scoring over size. He also has some shot creation ability in the mid-range and does a nice job of knocking down shots in catch and shoot situations. Defensively, he's really good at the point of attack, using his quickness to create steals and deflections.

Judkins, a junior guard out of Burlington High School, will look to rebound this winter after missing significant time last season with injury. The third big piece in Burlington's back-court, he's a terrific perimeter scorer that does a nice job of moving without the basketball, does his work early to be shot ready on the catch, and has the IQ to turn down shots to create better ones. He makes smart plays with the ball in his hands, is an instinctive cutter, and rarely turns the ball over.
