[player_tooltip player_id='2835369' first='Matthew' last='Hallberg'] of Princeton (Soph). We have talked about how Hallberg looks ready to step into the secondary scoring role and then as an upperclassmen should be ready to lead. He scored 15 points in the win over Hermantown to start the season. Hallberg is a great defender and as a scorer he started the season strong.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560433' first='Braxdyn' last='Male'] of Esko (Soph). Male might be a sophomore but he is a returning starter and a captain for his team. Male overcame first half foul trouble of three fouls to score 25 points and lead his team to a 35 point win over Warroad. A strong, matured young player that looks to be one of the best players in his class at his age.

[player_tooltip player_id='2397796' first='Judah' last='Mitchell'] of Bloomington Kennedy (Soph). Mitchell led Kennedy over Randolph with a 27 point performance. The CDH transfer stepped right into a big scoring role making 9 of 21 shot attempts and 9 of 12 foul shots. Throw in five boards and some steals and it was a great debut.

[player_tooltip player_id='2909458' first='Braylon' last='Nelson'] of Sleepy Eye (Soph). Nelson is a strong, nearly 190 pound wing that gave his team 16 points in a 50 point win over MCW. He also grabbed five boards and dished out two assists. Nelson and [player_tooltip player_id='2860724' first='Eric' last='Lozano'] gave Sleepy Eye the depth that opened some eyes on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='2860474' first='Corbin' last='Petcoff'] of Hermantown (Soph). We spoke about Petcoff needing to step into a bigger role after playing as a frosh and now having a bigger role as a sophomore. The 6'4 big had 11 points and seven rebounds for a solid debut.

[player_tooltip player_id='2847919' first='David' last='Voss'] of St. Francis (Fr). The 6'2 freshman was likely the top freshman performer of the weekend. David opened his career with a dozen points and five rebounds in a loss to Legacy Christian.
