<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 13th annual Tri-State Orthopaedics Bosse Winter Classic took place on Saturday, December 20th with a loaded 10 team/5 game slate with some of Southwest Indiana's top teams facing off with some of the top programs in the state of Indiana. From state championship contenders to Indiana All-Star/Junior All-Star hopefuls, the action was jam packed all day long. Here is a recap from the 13th Annual Bosse Winter Classic:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Game 1: Liberty Christian vs Evansville Harrison</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a back and forth game filled with scoring runs from both teams, the <strong>Evansville Harrison Warriors came out on top defeating Liberty Christian 51-45</strong> behind big time performances from Freshman Duo of 6'0” Guard Aiden Terry with 16 points followed by 6'5” Forward Romiyez Calvin with a 14 points and 12 rebounds double-double. The inside-out duo made big plays in crunch time to secure the Warriors victory. Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2267054' first='Tywaine' last='Fuller'] got hot in the second half for Liberty Christian leading them with 15 points in the day. 6'6” Senior Big Man Monte' Dillard was a mismatch problem all game long, but was saddled with foul trouble ultimately fouling out finishing his day with 9 points and 8 rebounds.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Game 2: Crispus Attucks vs Evansville Bosse</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Back and forth game early on, but Crispus Attucks kicked it into high gear to end the first half on a 14-3 run and didn't look back as <strong>they defeat Evansville Bosse 83-65.</strong> Division I recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1560945' first='DeZhon' last='Hall'], a 6'4” Senior Guard, led the Tigers with 30 points and 5 rebounds. Junior Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2622052' first='AJ' last='Jones'] commanded the offense flawlessly finishing with 13 points and 7 assists. Evansville Bosse got a complete game out of 6'3” Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2172596' first='Marrius' last='Harris'] finishing with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. 6'0” Senior Guard Ramon Nelson Jr. was also in double figures for the Bulldogs with 11 points and 3 rebounds.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Game 3: Princeton vs Castle</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From the tip to the final buzzer, the Princeton Tigers controlled the game. The duo of Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2539928' first='Quintyn' last='Voltz'] and Senior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] were outstanding all game. Voltz scored 21 of his game high 25 points in the first half while [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] recorded a triple-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists <strong>leading the Princeton Tigers to a 79-50 win over Castle.</strong> Senior Guard Zen Coomer also chipped in with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Senior Guards Dylan Kain and Carter Bone were in double figures for the Knights with 13 points and 10 points respectfully.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Game 4: Lawrence Central vs Evansville Reitz</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What was a sloppy game for three quarters, Game 4 of the Tri-State Orthopaedics Bosse Winter Classic between Lawrence Central and Evansville Reitz ended up being a classic. With both teams combining for over 40 turnovers, it was no surprise that the game came down to the wire. Evansville Reitz Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2892526' first='Tim' last='Swope'] buried a right wing three with under five seconds to play to force overtime. In the overtime period, Dillion Wright scored a layup to tie the game at 63. On Reitz's last possession they went to their Senior Leader in Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2466252' first='Preston' last='Tolliver'] as he made a tough finish in the lane just before the buzzer <strong>as Evansville Reitz defeated Lawrence Central 65-63. </strong>Tolliver led all scorers with a 21 points and 11 rebounds double-double. 6'6” Freshman Wing Grayson Dease was a bright spot for the Panthers in the first three quarters as he finished with a 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists double-double.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561118' first='Doron' last='Harris'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2243047' first='Caleb' last='Wells'] played well enough for the Bears to win. Wells hit three three-point shots on his way to 14 points. Harris led the Bears with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in the loss.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Game 5: Jeffersonville vs Evansville Central</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A tale of two halves in this game with Evansville Central controlling it for the first half. Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2269379' first='Cameron' last='Patterson'] was scoring in a variety of different ways leading the Central offense. In the second half Jeffersonville kept hanging around and finally made their run to complete the comeback <strong>defeating Central 45-42. </strong>Junior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2622021' first='Jacob' last='Wilkerson'] struggled in the first half, but was spectacular in the second half finishing with a double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Wing [player_tooltip player_id='2404178' first='Cash' last='Whitehead'] was also in double figures for the Red Devils with 10 points. Senior Guard Terrance Nord came up huge in the second half scoring 9 points, including two three-point shots that jumpstarted the offense for the Red Devils.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Patterson led the Bears pacing them with 18 points. Junior Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2964484' first='Wyatt' last='Plisky'] was active on the boards on both ends finishing with 7 points and 7 rebounds in the loss. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
