I am down in Yakima watching hoops at the SunDome Shootout for two days. There were some great games on day one, and here are some of the standout posts and wings who were hooping during the first day of action.

He was a workhorse inside, getting a ton of buckets in close, and following his own misses for a handful of second-chance points. He was locked in a battle with [player_tooltip player_id='1587955' first='Parker' last='Mills'] throughout the night and showed great hands and patience in the paint, using pump fake after pump fake to get good looks and be a big factor inside.

Mills went to work from the jump against Glacier Peak, and when he was able to catch deep in the post, it was almost a guaranteed bucket. He used strength and footwork to spin around defenders, work to the middle, and finish with either hand. He also has a good midrange game and knocked in several midrange jumpers, facing up, even burying a three in what was a really impressive performance.

One of the better performers on the day, Santos plays a big part for Grandview with his size, strength, and ability to play out of different spots. It's been clear through the early part of the season that he can be a key scorer/playmaker around the paint, but he's also able to stretch the floor, and even was able to split defenders with crafty moves from the perimeter a couple of times. Also came up with big rebounds and made some key defensive plays, finishing with 17 points.

Loved his activity and energy throughout the game; he was a constant player at the rim, whether it was attacking from the perimeter, getting in on the boards, or coming over from the help side to contest and block shots. Thielman is a pretty athletic wing with some size, and it was clear how he can impact a game from the wings.

He was banged up entering the game, but they leaned on him in some key stretches in the second half to ignite their offense. It was a stagnant first half offensively for both sides, and after going back and forth for three quarters, De Graaf stepped up in the fourth to get some penetration, draw up extra defenders, and started creating shots for others. He also had a few big rebounds late in the game to help Zillah eke out the win over Bainbridge.
