As teams gear up over the next week and an exciting winter of basketball gets underway, it's an ideal moment to spotlight a number of prospects—particularly from the 2027 class—who merit recognition, whether they're aiming for a breakout and added exposure or looking to reinforce their stock in the months ahead.    Expected to run the show from the point guard spot for this year's Lawrenceville group, [player_tooltip player_id='2875236' first='Jayden' last='Lau'] is a guard who's capable of scoring from different spots on the court while also serving as a poised floor general who consistently creates scoring opportunities for his teammates. Lau shoots the ball with confidence and efficiency, knocking down threes both off the catch and off the dribble. Lau also diversifies his scoring attack by getting into the paint and finishing with craftiness and toughness— playing with physicality and attacking the rim aggressively off the dribble, absorbing contact and finishing with a variety of floaters and layups. Defensively, Rosta should also provide versatility in the different ways he can impact the game— defending with length to be disruptive against opposing ball handlers and size to fight against bigger forwards. As Rosta continues to get stronger and refine his skillset while adjusting to the speed of the American game, look for him to turn heads throughout the course of his junior season.     Leveraging his size and length to impact the game in a multitude of ways, [player_tooltip player_id='2504903' first='Dylan' last='Cowell'] is an intriguing forward who competes well for position and consistently contributes on the glass at both ends of the floor. Cowell finishes effectively around the rim and provides scoring from the dunker spot, all while also flashing the potential to space the floor and kick down outside shots. As he continues to streamline his game and avoid forcing plays, his overall impact should only increase and much of that development should be on full display as he embarks on the start of his junior season. Kuqo not only thrives as an insider finisher— sprinting the floor in transition for above the rim finishes, or working effectively from the dunker spot, all while also providing an ability to space the floor as an outside shooter. A strong defensive anchor, Kuqo is also just as impactful manning the paint— showing strong anticipation skills as a shot blocker, disrupting attempts at the rim while also rebounding effectively     A big who stands out with how his interesting offensive skillset impacts the game, Buley is effective in the painted area as he scores effectively from the low post, finishes well as a roller in ball screens, is capable of catching lobs off guard penetration, runs the floor well in transition, and also makes his presence felt on the offensive glass. Countering his inside game, Buley is just as impactful on the perimeter as he is more than capable of stretching the floor and being an effective pick and pop threat. Defensively, Buley is also impactful as not only as a switchable defender but also as a guy who uses his length to deter shots around the rim and crash the glass and come down with rebounds.     Continuing to look more and more comfortable handling the ball and intent on showing he's more than just a shooter, [player_tooltip player_id='2568645' first='Austin' last='Kolakowski'] will look to showcase a more diverse offensive skillset upon the start of his junior season. A versatile shot maker, Kolakowski can knock down outside shots in a multitude of ways by knocking down several difficult off the dribble threes while also excelling as a spot up threat. Kolakowski's also proven to be effective as a movement shooter as well, converting attempts coming off different types of pin downs and screens. Countering his threat as an outside shooter, Kolakowski will look to showcase his ability to mix in a few strong finishes at the rim when opposing defenses run him off the three point line.     An intriguing front court addition for College Achieve, [player_tooltip player_id='2845837' first='Malachi' last='McKelvin'] will look to provide necessary size and athleticism at the forward spot. McKelvin stands out with the many ways he can influence the game without necessarily needing the ball in his hands, particularly with the little things that often go unnoticed— not only defending with length and energy as a switchable defender but also with activity with the help of his high motor, being extremely active on the glass generating second chance opportunities on the offensive glass and crashing the boards and securing rebounds on the defensive glass.
