showcased so much of that outside scoring while also mixing in some tough and physical finishing ability at the basket. A diverse scoring approach throughout the weekend saw Lau not only burry looks creating separation off the bounce paired with deep range accuracy from well beyond the three point line to shoot it just as well as he does as an off the bounce shooter as he does as a spot up shooter off the catch but also mixing in some tough finishes through contact and in traffic when driving angles opened up for him off the bounce.

Despite a slow start, Lau came on strong down the stretch of the game to finish with 18 points. He came out looking to facilitate with a couple nice dropoff passes for easy layups in the opening half. Lau would score 14 of his points after halftime, getting himself going with his midrange pullup before adding in a 3 and showing he could keep things honest attacking the rim on a couple successful forays off the dribble. He’ll have to work to improve his foot speed and ball security for the next level but shows promise with his positional size and shotmaking ability.

Lau is a skilled guard with good size who creates matchup problems on the perimeter. He can facilitate offense by making the right reads while also being a capable scorer at all three levels. His ability to see over the defense allows him to control pace and keep teammates involved. That blend of size, skill, and versatility makes him a valuable backcourt piece.

Lau impressed with his ability to convert shots from beyond the three point line and finished a total of six. He had 20 points total. Lau keeps the ball on a string and has impressive handles. He can also stop on the dime and change gears and directions with ease. Lau has nice mechanics on his shot. I want to see Lau work on his efficiency and also play off two feet more. I wish Lau was a step or two quicker.
