It is hard to believe we are already one month into the 2025-2026 Indiana High School Basketball season. Prep Hoops Indiana has been covering it all from border to border and will be hitting the road for a ton of games over the course of the holidays. Before we get too busy with the holiday tournaments we wanted to take a bigger picture look back at the first month of the season and highlight some of the individual top performers.

A consistent triple-double threat, Goff has been stuffing the stat sheet once again for Class 3A #3 Northview. We will have a chance to see the Marian University commit twice this week. First, at the Hall of Fame Classic on Tuesday and then the Wabash Valley Tournament on Friday. Goff is averaging 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for the 5-0 Knights.

Guerin Catholic is 4-2 on the young season and once again looking like a Class 3A Top 10 team. A big part of their success has been 6'3" junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140383' first='Jake' last='Grissom']. He was an Indiana Futures Game participant last season and a Junior All-Star candidate this season. Grissom is averaging a team-leading 18.3 points for the Golden Eagles who have won back-to-back games over Pendleton Heights and Lafayette Central Catholic.

It hasn't taken Hall anytime to adjust back to Indiana High School Basketball. The explosive left-handed guard led Crispus Attucks to three wins this past week. He had 21 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Warren Central, 17 points and 4 rebounds in a win over reigning Class 4A State Champion Jeffersonville, and 30 points in a win at Evansville Bosse. Hall, an unsigned senior, is averaging 22.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for the 5-2 Tigers.

It was an up-and-down junior season for Harrell who battled some injuries and a very uncharacteristic 10-13 Carmel High School record. However, he has been absolutely excellent to begin his senior years. Harrell, a 6'8" forward signed to play at Bellarmine, scored 22 points in a Friday night win over North Central and then had 28 points in Saturday's win over Kokomo. They Greyhounds are 5-0 on the season.

Selected as an Indiana Junior All-Star last season, this 6'0" guard from South Bend Riley High School is picking up right where he left off. He recently posted a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, plus three steals, in an 84-47 win over the Wildcats over Niles (MI). His athleticism and playmaking ability off of the bounce is a big piece of an excellent Riley backcourt. Jones, an unsigned senior, is the engine propelling his team to a 4-0 start.

We went to see Matelic play on Wednesday and, despite Speedway falling to Cascade, came away very impressed. The 6'6" guard has excellent positional size and uses it well to score around the basket or pull-up for jump shots that would otherwise be tightly contested. He scored 26 points in that contest and is one of the state's leading scorers averaging 29.6 points to go along with 8.4 rebounds for the Sparkplugs.

The breakout junior year that many of us were predicting for Murans to have is certainly playing out. A 6'7" forward for Guerin Catholic High School, Murans is averaging 14.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the 4-2 Golden Eagles. His confidence has really shown both through his improved three-point shooting ability and his willingness to attack the basket while absorbing some contact. Look for Murans to continue to take off throughout this season.

Triton Central is making a solid push at being considered for the Class 2A Top 10 after a 6-1 start. The Tigers are led by senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561110' first='Elias' last='Sego'] who is averaging 21.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. Their only loss was to Shelbyville, 52-39, back on November 29th. They have two more big games coming up against Class 3A opponents with trips to Greenwood and Roncalli. Those will be great opportunities to evaluate Sego against some solid competition.

The DePaul signee has the Quakers off to an impressive 7-0 start. Over the weekend, the 6'8" forward scored 30 points in a win over Perry Meridian and backed it up with 23 points in a win over Zionsville. Smith is averaging 20.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
