The Wright County East Preview

Holy Family has other ideas</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Conference Commentary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Top Ten in State</strong>:&nbsp;Holy Family</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Fire added the best scorer in this league getting [player_tooltip player_id='1560786' first='Lexyn' last='Grof'] in green from Jordan. That instantly pushed them in the favorite role with three starters (with size) returning and some reserves back as well. It also pushed them into contention for top ten in state and maybe a state title. The Fire have good players and now with Grof as the go to, the returning starters can play their role at a high level and win even more games. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Top Ten in State Potential</strong>:&nbsp; Southwest Christian, Delano</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Southwest Christian has some really nice players up front with potential. Between Burke, Streed and McCarthy they have a lot of potential production. What's needed is some guards to step forward and take the reigns running the team and knocking down some perimeter shots. If they get that at a reasonable level the Stars can get to top ten in Class AA and fight for this league title. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm not sure people realize that Delano has six guys back from their rotation last year (Max only played six games). Three guys that scored between four and five times a game on average and then three guys who are moving into upperclassmen years. And they are guards. I like Delano to make a push here PLUS, Class AAA is not deep. If Delano does get on a role, they could sneak into that top ten. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Compete with Most</strong>:&nbsp; Jordan, Hutchinson</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560806' first='Mitchell' last='Schmidt'] is going to be one of the best players in this league and there are a couple other returning guys as well. This team always plays hard and is coached well but the loss of Grof will hurt. This is kind of a reset for Jordan but at the same time, they have some good seniors. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hutch has their leading scorer back and a couple guys back from the rotation that should keep them competitive. Landon Teetzel will be one of the top scorers in the league. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rebuilding:</strong> Westonka</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Westonka had a nine man rotation last year and eight of those players were seniors. Mika James is a good player but he's going to be surrounded by inexperience so its tough to know what to predict from this team.
