Section Notes

Goodhue. Class AA is wide open but I feel quite strongly that Goodhue has a chance to play for a title. [player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] looks ready to be a star and [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] is one of the toughest and smartest players out there. Goodhue brings back a ton of their talent from a state team and they are as battle tested as anybody come state tournament time.

Cannon Falls. This growing program continues to find success in a consistent way at a fairly high level. They have young players coming up and five players coming back that have experience. They look like a top 15-20 program in AA overall for this winter.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa. With so much returning and being a big team, this is a squad that should take a big step forward. They have size, they have experience, they return nearly everything, and it's the year they have been building for.

Triton. Petersohn might give some of the biggest numbers in the state this season. You could see Pierce average about 28/13/6/4/3 this year and he has some developing teammates coming along as well.

Caledonia. The Warriors lost a lot. [player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King'] is back and there is some young talent but it might be a bit before Caledonia looks like what people are used to. It's a total youth movement that will lead to not being a top team in the section but still being a competitive team in the section.

Red Wing. Red Wing has four starters back from a team that won nine games last year including five in the Big Nine. With most of the Big Nine being AAAA or AAA teams, Red Wing will have the advantage of having played biggger schools coming into section play. This has long been an advantage for Goodhue.

PEM. The Dogs won nine games a season ago and bring back their best player. They have a good history that has seen a lot of the talent wave move through, but its a good program that leads the game early.

Randolph. The Rockets have their best player back and overall two of their three best players back from a team that was a few games out of .500 and we think they should be better this year.

Dover-Eyota. This is a team that could really make a jump. They didn't win much but there were four sophomore starters including [player_tooltip player_id='2138701' first='Mat' last='Matejka'] who is ready to be a star in this gr

Rochester Lourdes. The Eagles have struggled but we have seen some of their players have some really nice off-season success and we think they should improve.
